I believe that the Artisan was Dave Davies’ main guitar during The Kinks Arista era (“Sleepwalker”,”Low Budget”, the “Father Christmas” single, “The Kinks Live” double album and, possibly, “Give The People What They Want”.)
@@chrishenderson9130he did but I think he'll do it again. Knowing what he has for the "museum" is important to people who don't watch every sale he does. For the long time viewers I think it'd be bad business to stop. We all know he has a ton of guitars but it's a collection we "think" we might get to see in real life some day. I get it's a lot of work but there's way to go about it other than pulling all of them out at the same time to make it seem like his whole house is just guitar cases everywhere.
Here's what I would do: do a new video showing the guitars he purchased and kept this year, with a link to last year's video for those who want to see what he's gotten in previous years
I’d rather see a collection of guitars that looked like they were played. The one that aren’t played are often duds. Plus the play wear adds character IMHO.
Trogly, You should consider getting a dual action polisher. It would make your cleaning go so much faster. I prefer Rupes polishers. A 6" would be your best option, but if you don't feel comfortable using a full sized polisher, their 3" would work almost as well. Rupes also makes some of the best polishing compounds. A good polisher would likley take your two hour clean and polish job down to less than half an hour and get better results.
MERRY CHRISTMAS. I kept looking for the RED dot on the Gibson on the headstock. 🤔. That would be something good for Gibson to do if they haven't already.
TP-6 is infamous because of that video of BB King breaking a string, getting a new one and putting the new string back on while continuing to play around the missing string!

That is a beautiful example of the Artisan. I like that it has that walnut look that was more popular in the 70s till early 80s. I used to own a 1980 Gibson Les Paul Custom black beauty with nickel hardware, not gold. Two PUPS, not 3. It was my favorite guitar, and it got ruined in a flood. I didn't know what I know now that some people can fix anything so she's long gone. I love your Artisan and would like to get an old ES-335 in walnut too, I think they're cool.
Look up ' April Wine Cedar Rapids Iowa ( 1982 Concert ) ' on youtube , Myles Goodwyn is playing a 3-pickup Walnut finish LP Artisan , he rocks it ! I thought it was YOUR guitar at first but its 3-pickups version...Thanky Trog !

Speaking of Sustain Sisters, get a stethoscope at a drug store, and give a guitar an audible exam. Surprising where it is most and least resonant. I have an '81 2PU Ebony Artisan very much like the one in the vid except for the color and deeper neck. Doesn't get gigged very much, and it's real heavy, but it plays nice, sounds good, and gets compliments. Artisans are cool!
How to clean properly video would be awesome! I'm always afraid that I'll do more damage by cleaning the few fingerprints than just leaving it until my tech does it for me. Also, how to deal with epi hardware that disintegrates for us with alien blood sweat.? 15:28 screwdriver slip?
If this were mine to list, it would get a rating of "good" for its condition. With all of the gouges, buckle rash, and nicks I wouldnt list it any higher than that. Ding! Fries are done! LOL
I know its not your style austin... but if you come across/find "cheap" dimebag washburn's(preferably the usa/funky monkey/boogie street)... those are going for insane money and they just keep going up in price. Even the cheap korean models are fetching some unreasonable prices. Another "artist" guitar to look at... trent reznor (nine inch nails) had 4or 5? Custom painted guitars that got sold on ebay back in 06 ish? (He had a huge auction) but the best ones were les paul/ esp's.. they went for realitively cheap money concidering, but they were custom painted for the "the fragile" tour.. if only i wasnt 17/18 at the time, now i would have attempted to buy all of them and i would have sold my truck to get them. Ive never seen them again so they went to some people who keep them private. Just a few guitars to look at i know the dime stuff aint your cup of tea but theyre money makers

I have a bolt on Invader , puts every other set neck , Paul shape I have ever had ,,,,, a dozen or so ..... to shame Slab Ebony bd. An unbendable maple neck A honking slab o mahogany Gibson took a page from Leo on that model

Love the Les Paul Artisans. Ever since seeing Matt Pike from Sleep/High on Fire play a 3 pickup Mahogany colored Artisan. I’d love to have one eventually. Pike also plays a bunch of other really really cool Les Pauls and other guitars.
