Church Quorum of the 12 and First Presidency do receive a small living stipend for food, housing, etc. This is presumed to be about $120K annually. This is extremely modest considering most of these men were making upwards of $500k-millions or even more before their full time callings. They have donated far more than they take and live the law of consecration. I post simply because this is an argument people generally make to discredit the church. However, after being presented with the actual facts, like all anti-LDS arguments, this one falls far short.
@@stevenasommes Thanks it gets confusing when you all claim to be The Church of Jesus Christ, like you are the only ones. The one in Pennsylvania is also a restoration Church. The one Sidney Rigdon started after the death of Joseph Smith.
@jc72outdoors His Church of Christ only lasted until 1847, when internal strife and a failed prophecy of Christ’s Second Coming caused the organization to crumble. With Stephen Post, Rigdon later organized another movement called the Church of Jesus Christ of the Children of Zion, which he led until his death in 1876. Not sure how that is confusing?
This is so exciting and wonderful to hear and see!! I’m so grateful for the inspiration our Leaders are receiving to expand relief and support to our brothers and sisters all over the world, and for various needed initiatives. Thank you for putting this video together to let us know of this incredible news
@@gilliandibble6611 The church does extremely well managing everything. They pray for God's will, only God knows what needs doing where. It is the responsibility of looking after other people's money to wait until sure so it goes to the right causes. Count me in ❤️✌️🖖
I am so thankful to be part of this organization and know that our donations are so well managed. and multiplied. To know that my few dollars contribution is being combined with others' and goes so far is just amazing..
This is a great video. Thanks scriptural central for bragging a little on the churches behalf. Share this with people who say we spend too much on temples and don't help the poor.
I am so blessed that I can support this excellent project by paying my tithes, as we all can . Thanks to our Lord and saviour, Jesus Christ, for this opportunity to care for and love our brothers and sisters all over the world.
I love volunteering at the peanut butter factory in Houston, TX. I love being a part of a church that does so much every single year to care for the poor and the needy all around the globe.
I really dont care how the church used the money. Paying my tithes is between Him and me. He blesses me when i obey the law of tithing. Thats what i care. And besides the money belongs to Him. I know the Church uses it to bless the lives of many. The Lord reveal it to me through prayer because i really dont care how the fund being manage. The Lord already made inform unto me through the Holy Ghost to have peace of mind when it comes to tithing.
This is a wonderful new program to add to all the other humanitarian aid that the church already does. Also if you ever get a chance to work in a Bishop storehouse jump on to see how it helps families. The Peanut Butter factory is also a wonderful place and they keep improving it to make more effective. This is a wonderful video.
This is great! It's fantastic that the church is partnering with capable and effective charitable organizations already in place. It's reminding me of the Giving Machines, where the church works with many local charities (not all are local, but several per machine are, I think) to fill local needs. 💛
What a blessing it is, helping those in dire need blesses us who are able to help and alleviates all people at both end of the chain. All this because of our savior and Lord Jesus the Christ.
The Ethiopian World Wide fast is still the most meaningful fast in my life. Thank you for this update and additional information. I love being part of humanitarian projects with such a large collective.
It's great that you sent money to help the Ethiopians. But apparently God wasn't bothered or didn't care because their devastating problems go on and on and on.
@@truthseeker4286 Have you ever heard the story of the starfish? As the young boy was throwing them back into the ocean he was told, it doesn’t matter because you can’t save all of them. He picked up the next one and tossed it as he replied, “It matters to that one.” The power of one.
CHARITY - The Most Important Thing That A Person Should Have !!! Knowing That My Donations Are Helping People Near & Far, Gives Comfort. Thank You !! This Was A Well Delivered Message.
Was amazed to hear what he said about structural poverty being perpetuated by exploitative business models and how they follow the philosophy of Korihor. Matched my own observations of exploitative businesses but i never thought of it in a scriptural context before.
The Church has been providing these types of services from years, they’re only now sharing their contributions for the sake of those who are concerned.
i am happy for these children and i pray for them and i ask for prayers for 27 years oh horrible, my insurance does bot cover abuse, there atr many of suufering don't know of, thank you in helping others. thank for all you have for me, i honestly left out, but it is okay. i am grate God has given many blessings. thank you all for what you do. sherrie hawker
During General Conference weekend I so enjoy the "World Report" broadcast between sessions. This is in part why I enjoy paying tithing and fast offerings.
Thank you for this powerful and thorough report on the humanitarian program. I give what I can each month with my tithing and fast offerings. It is wonderful to hear how it is blessing our brothers and sisters.
Thank you for recognizing and speaking of this from the scriptures .We must apply what the Book of Mormon and other scriptures teach. This is a personal emotional boost to me.This is just one of the beliefs and practices of the Church that attracted me as a young woman. As a public health nurse, I was charged with administering a WIC program and have since volunteered in China and South America. There are indeed great needs in the world. This will actually meet deep needs of women, children and families in the world. Wonderful.
Such an informative video. Thank you. I will be even more conscious of my humanity donation every month as I pay tithing. I can help in my small way when combined with other efforts. We can care for the poor!
I love being part of such a marvelous church that serves ALL of God’s children including people who will never tithe, give back to the church, or belong to the church. It’s so inspiring! Truly the Lord’s work! ❤☀️
This is great...we need more extensive discussion of what's being done. Yes, it risks tooting our own horn, but so many want to know the details of the depth and breadth of the church's efforts worldwide. And critics thrive on the absence of such information.
Wow, they have you right where they want you. Thanks to folks like you, the church has amassed roughly $250 BILLION in total wealth. Yet their yearly expenses are only 6 billion. Why in god's name do they need this obscene wealth????
How we are blessed to be part of this. Do they make shore that the money does not go in the leaders of organization pockets. I love helping in the humanitarian crisis carol
Not a single penny of this goes anywhere but to help those who need it. This is not run by the Joel Olsteens of the world, but rather by dedicated, committed followers of Jesus Christ.
This is so fantastic, I have received W.I.C. products when pregnant because I was having problems with my pregnancy. And it's great for the children to get until school age,or when food is available in homes for children. Thank you for the wonderful video ❤❤❤ Know millions or billions will be helped all worldwide ❤❤❤ 7:55
Would this have happened if there wasn't so much concern from many that the church should do more with it billions and fully self sustaining organization?
The Church of Jesus Christ has donated several millions of dollars throughout the years. If you did a little research (I need to do more, myself) you could see that it is steady and prevalent! They have a horse ranch for veterans, there is no listing for that, but I know where it is, they have all these pockets of charity that they don’t announce for gratification but they quietly serve and I so love knowing this because I believe this is how our Savior serves. ❤❤❤
As noted in the video, the Church has been in the humanitarian relief effort since the 1830s, and that was even when they had little or no financial reserves. The fact that they have been able to improve their financial resources and continue , even massively increase their efforts is a testament to the wisdom of their financial management.
The Church has been the largest charity organization in world giving millions in resources and hours of service to the needy for years and will continue to do so. We care not about public opinion or any supposed controversy based on false claims. We care only to do the will of our Lord Jesus Christ in spreading His gospel and His love to all mankind.
This is great progress, hoping we'll eventually get to donating 1% of the annual tithing and investment proceeds to the needy - only another $140 Million per year to go, we can do it!
One thing to remember is that not all this money comes from Tithing. Fast Offerings, which are designed to feed the poor from the money we would have spent on our meals, and also you can contribute to the Humanitarian Fund of the Church. All of that money goes to these kind of projects. If you have a few extra Bucks or Euros or what ever your local currency is, toss it towards Humanitarian Fund. It will go a long way.
This is a good start, but it's literally 0.0279% of the church's estimated wealth (assuming 200B). That's the equivalent of donating $27.90 if you make 100k a year....
I not aware of the church publishing how much is given on the local level. Having lived in many wards I can tell you the church is very generous on local levels to members and non-members alike. It's easy to be critical, but as one who is in the trenches I believe consecrated funds are shared liberally and responsibility.
@@brihal6498 agreed. Just putting what seems like a massive number in perspective. It would be nice to know how much the church gives overall. And this project will certainly help many many people.
This is a very small portion of the total relief efforts they do every year. They provided about $1.2 billion last year and over $900 million the prior year. And if they donated all their assets at once, they wouldn’t have anything to generate income for ongoing expenses and relief. Would you expect that of anyone else?
Tithing dollars are going to organizations like CARE?? Their charter includes social justice, climate 'justice', gender equality, etc. In addition to those, they are also partnering financially with the UN. Who is vetting these organizations?
It's great to hear about... but... only $57 million? Yet one of our funds has 160 billion in it? Are you looking after our members? Are you giving this donation to groups that will respect us or fight against us? Once you've fixed the malnutrition issue, will these individuals have jobs or go back into poverty? Is there life-long support or will they just go back into a state of suffering? I am glad we share and I hope all their needs can be met, it's a start anyway.
The billions you refer to are the total assets of the Church, not spendable cash resources. This included the value of temples, meeting houses, universities, bishop’s storehouses, and so forth.
Like does the church help to lift people of of poverty? I believe the perpetual education fund and pathways program do that. Life long aid is contrary to self reliance. I'm not aware of any other organization that lifts people out of poverty and helps the to better their life, and then invites them to help others to do the same.
It’s about time? People seem to be clueless that charity is ongoing through out the years. They don’t post every single donation. People can be so ungrateful sometimes.
55.8 million? That's great but how is this amazing? After paying tithing for decades and knowing about church revenues and investments I am embarrassed by two things. One, the minor amount of funds, and two, acting contrary to the words of Christ in how his disciples are to not trumpet their efforts and parade then before men.
The Church didn't put this out. A MN from Scripture Central did. Also when the Church does report money going to charitable causes its not to boast....its to let its members know where tithing is being spent. Calm down....the Lord is in charge..
@@rodhancock3549 so he mentions a concern about how the funds might not be used apporpriately and your response to is to question his testimony? Dont you think thats a little condescending?
@@americathebeautiful9613 I might agree with you but only if you spelled the word “appropriately” correctly. Have a nice day. And by the way, we don’t question the manner in which the sacred funds of the Church are distributed. Thought you ought to know!
The church is working at a pace that secures it finances for the long term. Your comment is misplaced, unless you have a crystal ball or are a prophet yourself... the future needs to have a larger bank account than what the church has at present.
@@andyg806 So true! I've seen so many people say things like "the church should donate every las penny it has to the poor or else it's plainly evil", like, come on! It's $55 MILLION! MUCH more than many of us will ever be able to even afford to donate to charity, and it's only one of the many humanitarian donations the church does YEARLY!
