Prestbury in Cheshire can be proud of it's rich history and heritage. A stunningly beautiful village it boasts many archaic buildings and features including St Peter's church in the heart of the village. The church stands on the remains of an earlier Saxon church demolished by the monks of St Werburgh abbey as they constructed the church that we see today starting with the earliest phase of building back in 1220 AD. This year St Peter's celebrates 800 years of its history.
Join James as he takes a walk around the grounds of St Peter's church and describes in detail the history of this archaic site since earliest times and in particular the Norman chapel constructed around 1190 AD. This is a place of great beauty and well worth a visit in the future.
