On September 27, 2021, a life-sized bronze sculpture of Leon Russell was installed at The Church Studio! Over 7 feet, weighing 500 pounds, it took 3 years to perfect this masterpiece that now stands at the gallery entrance for anyone who enters to admire and take photos with. The Church Studio is undergoing its final stages of restoration before it propels into the music industry as a cutting-edge analog and digital recording studio as well as an Audio Engineering School, Event Center, Concert Venue, Tourist Attraction, and home to The Church Studio Archive.
The historic The Church Studio was built in 1915 as Grace M.E. Church but came to life in 1972 when Leon Russell, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and Grammy-Award-winning artist, purchased the old church and turned it into an analog recording studio, and home office to Shelter Records. Leon Russell fan and Tulsa native, Teresa Knox, purchased The Church Studio and is bringing it back to life as a professional recording studio (analog and digital), event center, audio engineering school, entertainment network, and home to The Church Studio Archive.
