Hi Tonny, Yes, you can use it with 8.4 and 9.1. I have included updates on the book's errata page and on the soundtraining blog as needed, but most things work. The book is written for people who are new to the ASA, but who do have some experience with networks. If you already have experience with switches and routers, the Accidental Administrator ASA book will probably be appropriate for you.

Hello Don - I was about to get your book at Amazon.com today but I realize that you book the software is still based on version 8.3(1). I was hoping that your book based on either 8.4 or 9.0. Please advise me if I can use your book with ASA 5505 version 8.4? Thanks

just a question since no one asking this, but, everyone talk about NAT, what about a tutorial about transparent mode, i mean not just the setup, everyone finish at the basic configuration and leave out the network object and filtering, what about the filtering, are they the same in routed mode and transparent mode. thank you.
