I studied and lived there from 2016 to 2017. Now I'm back to China and I miss Southampton so much. Such a lovely city and people there are so nice. Hope I could come back someday and wouldn't have to leave.

In the year 1993/94 I was an international student at the University of Southampton. Is there still the pub "Dog and Duck"?...😆 We had a great time and I don't wanna miss the time.

No, Sadly not. It went a good few years ago along with many other pubs and nightclubs back then. 'Thursdays' was a nightclub next to the Dog & Duck that I used to go to, part of West Quay shopping centre now.

It mainly depends on how much you're paying on rent - private renting a room in a shared student house is going to be about £400/mth rent student halls are a lot more expensive than when I studied there www.southampton.ac.uk/uni-life/accommodation/fees.page If you were renting your own flat, a good place in town would be about £700/mth www.rightmove.co.uk/property-to-rent/search.html?searchLocation=southampton&useLocationIdentifier=false&locationIdentifier=&rent.x=RENT&search=Start+Search

As a long term residnt of 57 years, this is well hyped advertising , yes great places and culture but lack of local funding has seen the City decline over the years. On my travels to the City, I am reminded of social inequalities and homeless people, Southampton in not a bad place but could benefit from an upturn in fortunes for all... Before any of you think I dislike this City, you are wrong, I would like our City to be a cultural hot spot...

I live in 3 different cities in the UK, I found Southampton a little bit boring city comparing to others what is good about Southampton apart from being nearby London 1:30 min away that is it is a green city, parks everywhere
