Sukothai was the original capital of Thailand. Bangkok became capital because of the port. Now there are plans to build a new capital north east of Bangkok because parts of the city has actually sunk hence the flooding every year.

i didnt know this i thought auyuthaya was the most prominent city before krung thep or is that way back when most of the regions was khmer

thanks for sharing always look forward to your vloggs, do you pre plan and book each leg of your trip or just look for a room/hotel as you travel about and choose destinations etc as you go, i know you can travel 400 or even 600 kilometres a day but thats alot of driving and no time to take in things as you travel. probably a more realistic plan is around 200 km each day, what are your thoughts and tips , cheers

Hey Phil thanks for the comment. I just pick an end point and drive there and back threw diffrent provinces. I book the hotels while we are on the way. I drive around 250km a day just I'm the morning. I make sure I go and check out the best places in each province and then stay in accomodation with beautiful view some times stoping One or a few nights depending on what places I want to check out. Hotels are around 500b -1500b PN and the fuel 500b-1000b PD

@@the-big-mango cheers mate i am hopeing to do some traveling with thai partner and don't mind driving, but i try to avoid driving at night at all costs to many problems on strange country roads that i dont know, and if anything were to happen chances are i would be held responsible, cheers
