They didn't eliminate the "BLACK" category until 1995. Then they began a URBAN award category. All they did was remove the word Black because the nominees were still always Black artists.
Being born in 82 I’m not shocked. Most awards shows had a “black …” catergories at some point. It just sounds so….. racist. Although we have a long way to go this shows we’ve atleast made SOME progress as a country.
