Because they were once-an-era geniuses creating and following and representing the politics, music and art of Punk Rock. The fact of it being an actual movement with meaning and human interaction) spiked the energy of all of us. There are no movements today like Punk Rock. In fact there has been no significant wide reaching rebel movements since 1977. What constitutes a 'rebel movement' these days? Me Too and LGBTQ? Maybe! But Punk was trying to demolish the central social and political realities in a fundamental way.
@@annetta7793 those movements are just nut jobs who want to feel like they are heros against tyranny and are uneducated on these subjects or just want to look good , but they are just shit heads. “Turning rebellion into money”
@@metalmongoose805 No. There are too many good people who do want a revolution. Rebellion is ongoing and it "outbreaks' every so often into these very well meaning movements. But I always like to hear the opposing view.
This performance is absolutely sublime. Kills any other version I’ve heard of this song including the studio version. Gotta love Strummer’s quirks and passion. Also MICK JONES after strummer said keep it going just killin it to the point where he gets the “hell yeah!” head nod from joe at 4:05 lol haven’t even mentioned topper or Simonon but of course they were great too. Bravo 👏🏻
Thanks for popping up in my feed today! This is one of my favorite songs by the Clash and this version is one of the best I’ve ever heard. RIP Joe we miss you.
I can see why they booted Topper after this tour -- his drumming is appalling here! I didn't even realize it was him until I got a good look. Don't do junk, kids!
