This show has done a phenomenal job showcasing the class disparity and how it feeds into every aspect of Gotham. Just another facet of corruption and who it hurts, everyone.
This is another reasons why The Penguin is a great show. I really like how the show dives into the issues of class within Gotham. It’s the centuries old struggle between the wealthy and the poor. Not only does this make good storytelling, it opens the eyes of the audience to the reality of our world. This is where fantasy meets reality. Not a lot of shows do that.
Introducing a grounded, real theming to this stuff might go crazy tho. We've seen enough of Gotham to establish the connections to reality, using these things to demonstrate the extremes it leads to could be gold.
I’m really digging the exploration of the districts and Burroughs of the city, every city has unique neighbourhoods with different histories and different sorts of peoples. I mean NYC is obv inspiration but you can see it in most American cities and i love that it didn’t just copy-paste NYC but has its own Gotham identity
Colin Farrel is just exceptional in this role. Even though I know it is him, it is pretty much impossible to not think that Oz is a real person. The makeup and prosthetics are just beyond good, but without the right actor it won't matter, but they definitely got the right actor.
6 episodes down, and 2 more to go. Lauren LeFranc has done a phenomenal job so far in developing this exciting new show, and Matt Reeves has continued to build a cinematic universe that relies on quality. I can’t wait for next week to watch Episode 7. I know the last two are going to tug in our heartstrings!
The visuals they created give us the perfect vibe of Gotham.Just can’t praise this show enough. The sets.Scenery.Make up.The acting.Award season this show best be nominated.SO good!👏🏻🔥🐧🏆
I feel like Batman’s absence will be addressed in The Batman Part II. Remember, in the first film, Batman states how he can’t be everywhere, and The Penguin sets a good example of that. He’s going to need a partner, and I think we know who that will be.
Scarecrow or Black Mask are built for the Batman P2. I wanna see Scarecrow in a gang war against Penguin as king of the drop heads with 2 Face added in the mix.
I knew this show would be amazing when lots doubted it would be great. This Reeves verse is way cooler than Nolans. The Batman was amazing aswell our Colin ☘️🐧 making me proud to be Irish....
I'm curious how they'll tie this up given that Colin Farrel is done wearing the body suit. Great show so far, too bad it didn't introduce more iconic villains other than the Hangman and Sal Maroni
Jude Law, Collin Farrell, J0hnny Depp donated their entire salary in the doctor Parnasus 2009 by Terry Gilliam Monty Python to Heath Ledger's daughter Matilda
I keep on going back and forth between how Gotham is represented in this show.? At times it can feel like a run down city, but most of the time it feels like a generic ghetto area that looks a bit too close to reality. Personally, I really don't feel the disturbed and tortured nature of the city in this show, where loonatics can run around freely looting businesses and vandalizing city properties. There seems to be a lack of public insanity in this show that is around in other versions of this City.
It is a great show, but it is not DC's Penguin. A villain on the back of our minds for nearly a century. The decades of writing that has gone into this character to create such a wonderful villain arch has been reduced to a dude stealing drugs and killing people to rise up in power. Again, fantastic show. The power and balance to the cast is undeniable.
You're doing yourself a disservice by reducing Penguin's character to "dude stealing drugs and killing people for power". There's far more depth to him in the show than most comics already.
Marvel is for grownups. A single episode of Agatha is better than all DC Movies and shows combined.DC is only for teenage girls like you. Get a life, DC Princess, sorry Maid. 😂😂
