Here's my review and VR gameplay of The Climb 2 on the Oculus Quest 2. This extreme rock climbing game is back in glorious virtual reality with a brand new city level and loads of other places to explore. Crytek has done a huge overhaul on Quest that will definitely surprise new users but what about the VR enthusiast? Let's find out!

Good afternoon nathie great gameplay of the climb 2 I am thinking about buying the game but, I'm a little disappointed that it is not coming to PC VR as of right now because, this was the game that got me interested in VR we played the original in 2016 I was thinking about getting a PC headset just to play this hopefully it comes PC VR in the future. Looks awesome. I just wish they would have made it available on Rift-S as well. Pretty bummed on that. Not going to buy a Quest 2 just for one game, especially when I play PC-powered VR 100% of the time, especially for competitive Pavlov.

All my quest 2 games have allowed me the rift version for free if they have a rift version. Rift version doesn’t give me quest version though. Seems to go one way.

Looks pretty but I don’t think there is enough new for me to buy it as I already have the original game. The bundle of both games seems to be a great deal it’s a shame they haven’t offered a discount to those of us who own the original game! I think I’ll wait until there’s a sale and perhaps pick it up then!

I played the original and personally I really love this one but I understand you. You are basically paying $30 for upgraded visuals, not much else. If you aren't super hyped for the visual experience alone then it makes sense not to buy, at least not right away

I'm surprised that RU-vidrs don't seem to be pointing out that contrary to the promise in the Oculus blog post dated 18th February, " App Sharing applies automatically to all new apps in the Oculus Quest Store from this date forward.", it appears that The Climb 2, released on 4th March, does not offer App Sharing. I bought it a couple of days ago and have played it for a few hours. When I checked the secondary account on the same headset, it's not there. Very disappointing.

I think the game is alright but there really aren't many realistic features to it as I was hoping. I truly think the spent more time with the scenery than the mechanics.

Well yeah, thats kind of the point. They didn't really add any new mechanics, it was just an upgrade to the scenery. Vr is still in its early stages, so a lot of games focus on a visual experience rather than gameplay. If you're someone who is hoping to play more "actual" games in vr, you should probably wait a few years for the focus of games to switch over to that style a little bit more. Personally I still like this game because it can get challenging, and the mechanics are good enough that they don't seem like an afterthought. Both aspects seemed pretty good to me
