The Clock Store - Rhythm Play Along and Sing Along - Quarter Note, Eighth Note Pairs, Quarter Rest 

This is a great song to introduce reading quarter notes, eighth notes, and quarter rests! It's also a catchy tune to sing :) When I teach this song, I have students listen and pat/rest with the grandfather clock, clap with the grandmother clock, and snap with alternating hands with the cuckoo clock. We then learn to sing by rote. Finally, we transfer each clock to instruments: grandfather = drum, grandmother = rhythm sticks, cuckoo = claves. I set up the instruments as three stations which the students rotate through until students have tried all three instruments.
