There are so many comments here talking about clowns being useless, scary, stupid... But that is not true, clown is a form of theatre and one of the purest. Clown, too, is art and the training behind it is much harder than just painting your face; you have to get full control of your body, voice, expressions and thoughts. You cannot be a dramatic actor/actress if you cannot step out of your human world and be extra mundane. Being a clown is being able to be present and in that manner, entertain people, make them laugh. That is the hardest and most Noble artistic profession I can possibly think of.
Clowning is well and alive however clown is dead thanks to serial killer John Wayne Gacy and the American culture that promotes such cynical depiction of clowns. Who knows, maybe a clown is due for an image rehab.
@@hyojoonus You are 100% right. Its movies and media who portrayed a bad clown image. a real true clown isnt scary. A clown is there to relief the audience from all the tension in the other acts. He enlarges emotions. He makes you sympathize with him, he puts a miror in front of you and shows all the emotions in the world and makes them bigger. Being funny is a VERY serious bussines and a hard one to. Because an act has to precise. If timing is a splitsecond of then it can be less funny. Or even not funny at all.
Clowns are always useful, friendly, smart, hilarious, and brilliant at making people laugh. Clown should remain a part of the theatre, whether in vaudeville, Broadway, or in circuses.
Freeeedom! That's what it's all about. And all the rest is either taught or taken away! Clowning is about being funny from the heart and soul, not acting as such... Loose it all, and then give what's left!
People have been telling me my whole life how funny I am. Now that I am starting my clown journey, I don't know how. I can't be funny when I try to think of skits and whatnot, but people laugh at me nearly everywhere I go
Personally, I think it's a waste of time and money. How can you have one guy dictate what is funny or not. The humor is in the eye of the beholder. If humor was universal, there wouldn't be so many genres of it. This guy is a clown and they're all clowns for believing him.
You’ve literally just stated what he has said multiple times throughout the video- that they are close when the audience is laughing. It’s tough for people to learn that, but you could basically do standup or systematically train on another audience
@Jimmy John that's interesting, I was contemplating that the other night looking at the difference between heath ledgers and Joaquíns make up. Heath actually did his own amateur clown make up and also Joaquíns was done without loud colours.
I see you made this comment four years ago but being a clown is a key part of theatre. You can't jump into a drama if you can't step out and make fun of yourself. Clown teaches you to leave all your worries aside and give people laughs by making a LOT of effort. You see, if you watch good clown routines, you'll notice these people need at least a year of body training to have full control of their movements. The clown is one of the purest and hardest forms of theatre because just like a Kings jester, it is meant to entertain with laughter.
You both are jackasses. Clown is an art form, politicians are bums. Don’t be such team playing sycophants. Enjoy the clowns bringing joy, disdain the bozos in DC
