The Cocoanut Grove at the Ambassador Hotel on Wilshire Boulevard was a lavish, 24-acre nightclub that was open from 1921 to 1989. It was an important venue for performers like Bing Crosby, Ray Charles, Barbara Streisand, Dean Martin, Harry Belafonte, Judy Gardland and Diana Ross. It hosted the oscars multiple times, as well as celebrity-filled parties.

Thank you for sharing such a Beautiful video ❤. I had the Blessing to be at the Ambassador hotel for an event, So SAD it was demolished, a Land Mark.

stayed at the ambassador in 1949--didn't go to the cocoa nut grove, just walked by --the band was playing "it's a big wide wonderful world"-- so sad it seems that glamour has died ----the hotel and it's surroundings were magnificant

My father was one of the violinists in Freddy Martins band for a while. Apparently the band thought the guy was an a*s. But the Grove was awesome
