Happy New Year Austin May 2021 hold more hope and success for you and your family than 2020.

Happy new year, Austin. Why not make 2021 the year you learn how to fettle guitars? Get a couple of cheap guitars to work on. Or why not do a collab with someone who can teach you some stuff?
Haha.. This channel until the last year or so was strictly Gibson Les Paul's. Norlan era.. Vids on the history and details of guitars.. Expanding to fenders is very new for trogly..
@@smkh2890 different types of guitars for different music, and different sounds within the same music thats letting her know in terms she can understand though . lol
@@danielpaquet3963 One of each type of guitar...I have an SG, an LP, a PRS, a Flying V, but no Strat! I always found them lightweight, treble instruments. But I haven't even held a top-class one, so maybe one day!
I can't tell you how many times I've switched off guitars in the middle of a practice section and have been struck with inspiration, having multiple guitars is like an artist having multiple canvasses to paint on, the possibilities are endless
I'm glad that you did this show that way every time my wife complains about how many guitars I have I just show her a screenshot of this works great thanks a lot
I confess! I loved 2020. A year of guilt free working on improving my playing from reasonably good to stellar! I started a 3 piece power trio doing a Prog Metal thing with my wife a former Jazz tenor sax player vocalist who had switched to bass a year ago. She also put the time in to go from a novice to a polished pro. With 23 original tunes written and becoming polished up to a live thing I expect in a few months to add a drummer. It certainly looks like most of 2021 is going to be another locked down year. Perfect for me :-)
Weird flex, dude. I’m happy that your playing got better. But having freedom and jobs stripped away from citizens of the world is hardly something to be excited about. Just my opinion.
@@allthingsclassicrock I lost a good well paying day job I had for years because of C19 and it gone for good! I am 73 and in the real world no one hires guys 73. The only income I have is buying a few used pedals on line and reselling them.I also dumpster dive and get a few other things to sell. I do what takes and do not feel sorry for myself. I do not waste my time sitting around being a self righteous pious judgmental smug know it all. As for freedom ...I make my own. I am free to do things know that will get me ahead later. Quit whining! ...Just 'My'opinion!
I've worked residential construction since 2006. When I heard you paid off your house earlier this year I knew it wouldn't be long till you announced you would be moving, especially with the home market currently. I can't wait to see the new spot.
@@rex8958 yea I caught that. Dude is real knowledgeable I like the content he runs. Wouldn’t be a bad thing to get a museum going. I have a bunch of guitars nothing like this cat. But I have 15 myself and have learned a lot about my Gibson Les pauls and Fender strats through him. Keep up good work Troglys!!!
Happy New Year Trogly and my fellow Troglodytes!!!! This is hands down my favorite channel, thank you so much for the amazing guitar infotainment that has made this super insane year exponentially more tolerable! Cheers! 🍻🥂
Austin, I just have to tell you man. It’s been a really rough year. But when I discovered your channel, you really brought legitimate joy to my life by renewing my love for guitars. Thank you as always my friend! I’ll keep watching and supporting you!
27:55 I like how Trogly’s full theme song plays at the end, he definitely nailed the timing of where it’s at in the video. Edit: Maybe he’s hinting that he’s gonna change it, that’s probably one of things he has planned for 2021.
I am Neophyte Troglodyte at 6 months old. I enjoy your show. Understand yer a Gibson Freak, but variety is the spice of life? We need more "Rock-Guitar Stars" to join you on the shoe! Please review my favorite guitars of 1983-1986 Fujigen Fender Squire Stratocaster or Telecaster JV or E-Series Guitars. They were low cost freaks of nature at the time. In 85/86 my "Heavy" Blonde E-Series 52 Re-issue Telecaster was $268.00 out the door in San Diego. I went to the store expecting to pay around $650.00 - $1000.00 for the top models at the time. While comparing guitars over a couple of days of playing, the Squire won out over high priced Fenders. My "52" is in excellent player grade condition. 30+ years and still bragging about my purchase! As he rang up my purchase, the guitar shop nerd/pro giggled and smirked, like I was an idiot for buying a "Squire!"
Thanks for all your videos & the hard work that goes into making them - I am not a guitar player myself but the content is always interesting and well made. I have just picked up the bass and am very slowly learning it ... maybe a review of the Gibson Midtown bass in the new year?? Best wishes to you and your family for 2021 !!
Happy New Year Trogly! I own one cheap Epiphone (autographed by my fav band, so not that cheap for me) and honestly I still haven't learned how to play it, but I enjoy the beauty of guitars and that's why I absolutely love your videos. Sending much love all the way from Poland.
I've been watching your show for a few years... I would just like to say congratulations..!! You've come a long way.. I remember when you first started talking about Les Paul's and mispronouncing them as Lez Pauls..You really have worked very hard to get to this point and I've always admired your honesty and transparency.. I will admit that I'm a die-hard Gibson Guy and haven't really watched much of your content on non Gibson instruments. But for some odd reason I would love to see you getting more into Gretschs.. I'm 50 years old and my fascination with Gibson started when I was about 12 years old.. other than books or if you were lucky enough to know somebody who had first-hand Gibson knowledge, information was very very hard to come by in the 80s and 90s.. I appreciate your show very much and admire all your hard work and look forward to Troglys 2021
I have an unusual guitar that I bought used in 83 or 84. it is a bolt on Japanese copy of a Les Paul made by Kopy Kat. the hardware was terrible, so I replaced everything, the tuning pegs, I put Pearly Gate pickups on it, Gibson bridge setup, replaced the wiring and pots and switch and the neck and the action is unbelievable. has a lot of inlays around the neck looks really nice. It plays better then most Les Pauls I have played. Have you seen anything like this? I tend to believe it was made in the 70's
That Scarred Guitar is amazing!!!and it looks amazing in keeping with the Scarred tradition of being players not collectors.you should review some more of Sean's work on here.love the channel btw
Norman is one of the Best American Guitar Collector..he has broad knowledged & experienced on how to distinct the Quality,Originality,Durability - the material parts that were used mounted that made that precious instrument very playable & dependable in any occassion like small & big gigs of huge concert..although the price are q.expensive, but it will compensate the Quality of Sounds.
I feel for collectors, as they will never be happy with what they currently have. They will always seek something they don't have and never fully appreciate one guitar at a time.
@@wrenchhead4378 yes he seems to really enjoy hunting these Gibson oddballs that are supposedly “collectible”. There is a difference between oddball and collectible though, I think.
@@gregs8685 agree.. but its a weird, ever-changing market... all it takes is one famous (or semi-famous) musician to start playing an oddball guitar and that guitar’s price on the used market sky-rockets.... dan auerbach from the black keys single handedly brought the guild thunderbird back to life... thats just an example
Happy new year Austin, Great Video! What an Awesome way to end this year, and Thankyou for letting your fans enjoy this without those effing Ad's disrupting the Program. Looking forward to a Better year.......Take Care. 🎸💚
So stoked to be the guy to buy your last guitar of 2020 (Gibson 70s Explorer). It looked so killer on the rack, too! Can't wait to rock it out when it gets here. Cheers and the best to you in 2021!
dude actually got me with the last year thing, like my heart straight up dropped. Plz dont stop any time soon, you vids have gotten me through 10th and part of 11th so far

On my Gibson Explorer III camouflage 1984 I removed the Kahler USA 2230 Flyer (Gibson Supertune Vibrolux chrome stud mount tremolo bridge) and the clamping device at the nut, put on a Stop-Tailpiece, replaced the Bridge-Screws and put on a Tune-o-Matic-Bridge. You don't have to modify the guitar.
DONT SCARE ME LIKE THAT Trog- I hate to say it but this is the last year of the trogly guitar show Me-heart drops Trog-in this location Me-Oh thank god
I've become a P-90 fanatic. I have four Les Pauls, three of them have P-90s and the third has P-94s (humbucker-sized P-90s). My two recording amps are old tube amps (one from 1967 and one from 1952) and P-90s sing through them like nothing else ... maybe except for Gretsch Filtertrons. Those are my go-to's: P-90s and Blacktop Filtertrons.
Hi Trogly. Let me lead off with while I have played a plethora of musical instruments in the last 30 years, guitars have never been one I could figure out. I started watching your videos quite by accident. The RU-vid algorithm saw some reason one day to have our paths cross and in that video you mentioned being in Ohio and I'm a sucker for content creators in Ohio and ever since I watch your videos religiously. You make the idea of playing/owning guitars seem like something I could do by almost demistifying the process. Thank you for what you do. If you have a suggestion for a good but very affordable for someone with big hands (I'm 6'4" with bid ol' bear claws for hands) to try to learn on, I'd really appreciate the advice. Keep on doing what you do and thank you for producing content that has piqued the musician in me to want to try something new.
I must say how surprised I am you haven't plunged into PRS with both feet with how much you comment on beautiful flamed/quilted tops, and flamed necks.
It has been a long time since he has done a collection video.. The last time he showed his collection off he had a bunch of spotlight specials and multi color sgs and les Paul's..
Happy new year Trog. Always good to see your well displayed and curated guitar collection highlights. I think it would be really good to see these in a list for quick reference. I don't know how you'd share that with us, but it sure would be a hoot. My best to you and your family, and good luck with all the upgrades you have planned.
Thanks Trogly, for a welcome daily dose of guitar nerdery.........you are a champ !!! You also made me realise that I should never sell my R9, so I just took the listing down.
You should make a website with a digital museum. You have/ had so many awesome things go through your collection/ business. You could have a section for collection, one for past owned, customer ones you have broken down, ECT. Would be awesome
Just a couple random questions for you. 1. Do you have any dogs? 2. When are you going on your next vacation? 3. What's the address where these beauties are stored? Thank you B. Urgular
man i LOVE the headstock on the les paul double cut. the string pull is much straighter than almost gibsons, it looks weird, and isn't even a little traditional. but it's endearing to me
I like the flame on the two LPs you talked about doing a demo on together but not a big fan of LPs that are not carved tops.i agree on the Strat. It has an awesomely unique finish. I'd have a tough time parting with it too .please do return to the Monday series.
Last year I watched your collection video and I was quite critical about one person having so many guitars. After watching for a year I kind of get it but I would ask you to remember kids that can't afford one. Buddy guy played one string for a long time as a kid because he couldn't afford them all.
Meh, most of those guitars aren't exactly "daily" use guitars. Get some run of the mill vintage Gibson to play daily. The guitars in his collection are for historical and beauty value. There are millions of guitars in the world. 40 of them being preserved and enjoyed for their historical value outside of being played doesn't bother me at all.
@@mikewood1856 nah some guitars should be collected. Not all but some out of every high end line so we can appreciate them in good condition for decades to come.
Happy New Year, Trogly! Thanks for another year of fun and informative content. You are largely responsible for my renewed interest and appreciation for Gibson guitars after years of Fender fanboy-dom. A devotee of the Explorer in my early days, I now see the value of Les Pauls. My next guitar purchase is a coin flip between the two, and I know a Firebird is going to appear down the pipeline eventually. Can't say how much I look forward to the daily Trogly update. Best wishes for a safe, healthy, and productive 2021 to you and yours. Sincerely.
Happy New Year Trogly. I have enjoyed watching and learning this year. Made some of the craziness much more bearable knowing that "at least there is a new Trogly video to watch". Good luck on the upcoming move.
