I as a black woman growing up in the 60s and 70s, I am so proud to see all these legendary talented young people to be a part of this classic production! To God be the Glory!!🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾❤
A PART OF, not APART OF. Exact opposite meaning! Frequent grammar mistake- correction without judgment. Your loved one is A PART OF, not APART OF! Correct anyone selling themselves short! I’m a blessed writer & visionary who had a private audition with Denzel- and I’m working on some heartfelt projects now. I WILL CHANGE THE WORLD. WE ALL CAN CHANGE THE WORLD.
When I went to see the Color Purple for the first time in DC at the Kennedy Center where Fantasia played Cicely, I can't begin to explain that feeling that I had experienced that day. I felt like I was part of the play, it was definitely moving and very touching, it has transpired me to be in touch with my feeling. I love Fantasia I really hope she goes back on Broadway. I can't wait to see the movie, with such an amazing cast, I am sure that this is going to be amazing!!
The Color Purple has always been one of my favorite movies (and I was called weird at times for that), but I never cared. It was the passion, the story, the brokenness, the healing, the support, the triumph, it was relatable, and so much more. To allow these AMAZING Actors to step into these roles, I am ecstatic. I know I watch The Color Purple at least 3-4 times a year just because you can feel it every time. 💜💜💜 Salute and Congratulations to the cast, Directors, producers and Oprah Winfrey, I don't even know what to say, WE LOVE YOU!! 💜💜💜
Please don't let whatever BS social media has created around this film... please don't let this flop!!! These people have worked hard! From the writers, to director, to the producers, and most definitely the CAST, and let's not forget ALICE WALKER HERSELF! I can't wait until I have the money to do so! Don't think of it as a remake of the first film, or the musical! Think of it as a way that these people, are telling their stories through the lens of Alice Walker's Genius! Artists in the US don't get enough love, and after not working because of the writers strike, and the SAG strike we have the opportunity to aid in an industry that supports us all!
I saw Color Purple today in Grand Blanc MI It was absolutely awesome. I appreciate you Oprah Windrey and every person that was apart of this awesome film
this was so amazing to hear. such an inspiration. your left feeling hopeful just based off of this cast talk!!!!! imagine the movie i cant wait to see it with my family on Christmas day!
Too bad their storyline wasn't consistent🤦🏿♀️ of course it was an affair but let's be clear Celie was trapped and the narrative is that shug is bi but I don't believe that especially with that GOODT lovin she got from Celie ain't no turning back from that, that kind of love is one and a life time hopefully there's a pt 2 where we see it really grow over the yrs the ups and downs the way a real relationship consist of
Why does it matter to you @sarahb? I mean don’t you have a prerogative, has anyone ever imposed forcefully on yours? It’s Halle’s prerogative. With all the beauty & the love of God’s presence on that stage, Halle’s pregnancy (or not) is the first thing that you could think of??! 🤔
Y’all see how Oprah was throwing shade at Taraji when she said when she was In the first color purple she had a lawyer that said I can get you 50,000 instead of 30,000 they had offered you and she said I said please don’t and she looked at Taraji she sad at smh

Like "Gone with the Wind", "The Color Purple" ends and marks the era and errors of our forefathers.💯❤️. Watch 😮good press and the negative press to mark the end of centries of an era of our forefathers errors. Slaves in both races, I salute you black Queens, you are woman who has endure and withstood and created the legacy of the black woman's plight🎉😂😮😅😊💯💯
Her interview segment is at 35:26 ; I couldn't get everyone in the same shot most of the time, but you can see her at that point and in Halle's segment right after
Coleman had the best speech until he said he was a feminist. That just diminished his character as a black man because by him saying that means he wouldn’t have been accepted by said black women on set unless he bowed down to them without the feelings being reciprocated
