He's not in the hof deion has been very vocal about it and said that the hall of famers should be the ones that vote not no sports reporter that never played the sport or any sports. It's just like how they kept Terrell Owens out of being a first ballet hof because they didn't like him.
@@cyberftright, i remember when andy reid over thought it and decided not to kick to hester, the whole vibe of his team changed for the worse because he sent a message that he didnt believe his team could stop hester....which is why dungy made the right move here especially because they still won anyway....hester was all the bears had going for them
@@rickym18wasn’t on Hester lol if we would’ve had a competent qb we win that supper bowl, put anyone besides Rex grossman on that team and Peyton never gets that first sb on the colts lmao
I was saying it cuz I remember watching the Super Bowl bears vs colts and it being a rainy game and Cris Collinsworth saying don’t kick to Hester and Hester returning the kick return for a TD right after he said that
I’m from Chicago so obviously this was a big game for my family and friends. My old man always hosted a super-bowl party but of course this one was larger than usual. I thought the house was gonna come down when he returned that kick. One of the most exciting moments of my life. Of course we lost the game but that moment I still look fondly back at.
Yeah biggest heartbreak of my life too..😢 Still messes with me when I watch clips of this game. Reason why I don't like Peyton, great QB but he gave me a reason..
@@cliffw7249it is def not Peytons fault that you shouldn't like him or however you feel towards him. Be upset and angry at the bears for not providing better than Rex Grossman at QB 😅
Ya I’ll never forget that moment just seeing how happy everyone I knew was … similar to Jordans last game as a bull when he took over and hit that game winner … d rose beating the heat or one of his many amazing game winners…I would give anything to have another electrifying athlete like this come thru Chicago again so we can have these happy moments u cherish for a lifetime again
Its about how much impact as much as talent and he didnt do it a lot over a prolonged period good player but like does a kicker derserve hall of fame for a perfect season once or twice
As a lifetime colt I remember like yesterday I was sitting in the barbershop getting a cut and saw this bs and wanted to cry but my man Peyton didn't let that stop him
Best ever punt returned ah he did in the biggest stage of all there no moment to big for him best ever i miss watching him play his vision he had and speed legendary
I remember that year. The bears made it to a Super Bowl pretty much without a working QB. Got there all on Defense and special teams. They would literally win games scoring like 14-28 points entirely in defense and special teams. No Offensive TDs. It was insane!
Rex had some good games that year. Even the ones he wasn't too good but still won he made enough plays. The problem is he was too inconsistent. Have a good game one day and then followed by a string of bad ones.
@@Followurhigherselfuh, you must have forgotten the 3 fumbles by skill position players. Sure, Rex had 2 picks, but those 3 fumbles don't happen, Bears hoist the trophy. 5 Total Turnovers, only 2 by Rex.
It’s hard to describe how insane it was that he opened the Super Bowl like this. For two weeks they talked on ESPN about whether or not you kick to him and how you contain him blah blah blah. One studder step and everybody loses track of him , then he gone.
A lot of people actually don’t know this but Hester’s SB opening kickoff kick return isn’t counted towards his return scoring career totals (Ex. 20 regular season return TDs plus the never counted 1 postseason return TD).. It’s the damndest thing. 🤔 21 Career TD returns • 14 reg. season PR scores • 5 reg. season KR scores • 1 reg. season Missed FG returned for a TD (before they changed the rules on returning FGs that are missed) • 1 postseason KR TD (the infamous first :13 seconds of Super Bowl XLI) The Windy City Flier is the GOAT, and even Coach Prime admitted it (with tears of pride and joy in his eyes, as Hester broke his record in ATL on the same team he used to play for; Hester even honored his mentor with the Primetime skip as Devin neared the end zone, before the entire Special Teams unit did the Dirty Bird dance with him).. 😅
Don't feel bad Coach. Nothing will ever surpass Coach Carol's decision to pass on the 1 yard line instead of giving the 'skin to Beast Mode aka Skittles in Superbowl XLIX (SB 49)....
