Body shaking electronic groove and melody from electro-jazz threesome The Comet Is Coming, performing 'Summon The Fire' in the BBC 6 Music Live Room for Mary Anne Hobbs' show.
Just saw these guys at Sands Festival in Margate a couple of weeks back, and they're my absolute favourite band now. Shabaka rocks, and Betamax Killer is one of the best drummers I've seen in ages. Must see them live again soon.
those sax valves must have Ford Cosworth engine valve springs on them, look at that guys muscles! :-) Really love this, thanks to 6 music to bringing this awesomeness to a lot of people's attention. oh, and the bassline reminds me of Nirvana's Territorial Pissings quite a bit, no bad thing at all.
I can really appreciate their keyboard player "looking" like he's playing an easy and repetitive line. I know that sounds back handed, but I really mean it. I've seen so many keyboardists just flail their hands around and "act" like they're playing something super complicated, and it's extremely offputting.
Думаю - что-то мне это напоминает...И вспомнил! Такой забой был у Хоквинд с их двумя спейс-роковыми альбомами X In Search Of Space и Space Ritual . Там были вещицы, выполненные в том же ключе и с похожей энергетикой....Особенно похожи, в смысле драйва - Orgone Accumulator и Brainstorm. Только это было в самом начале 70-х. Времена и темы возвращаются. В общем крутотень да и только
Each time I read some whiny piece on the Mercury’s I think: probably wouldn’t have heard these guys if it wasn’t for their nom, and for that I’m glad those awards exist.
Who would of thought psychedelic jazz would actually be pretty good. Is that even an official sub-genre, has this completely flown under the radar! Like... is there a Pink Floyd of jazz?
Stellar band, love their flow and passion! Not quite the same but their style reminds me of Black Moth Super Rainbow/Tobacco/Tangerine Dream (psychedelic funk/distortion and chill) and a bit of Griz's funk songs A Fine Way to Die and Before I Go
Which of their mom's basements was this recorded in? But, seriously, it's pretty good. Is this what jazz is in 2019? It sounds like Porcupine Tree recorded a track with sax as the lead rather than the vocal.
Really digging this album! First half is a little flat for me, with a few parts reminding me of "human music" m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-S1jWdeRKvvk.html The bass in this is reminiscent of Final Fantasy battle music- m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XjPF3AwVPM4.html And in strange way, incredible. Very loop-able. Video is great, too! Gonna be watching you! D
Beats the holy hell out of 99.99% of anything out there. These are the new masters of fusion. No autotune, no overindulgent guitar or drums... the fiery sax is the star, for once.
worst saxophone player ever. I can't remember ever disliking a song as much as this one. I just do not understand it. Horrible sound. Sounds like a football chant near the end.
You are welcome. Glad you enjoy their noise. My original post was just to highlight my personal dislike of the song but noticed from this video that he was able to make a sound with a sax but was not particularly good at playing his instdument so I elaborated on that point. Each to their own I suppose. No hard feelings. I listen to some pretty poor musicians myself. Xx
