The only one I would even consider is the the trade back with Arizona to 4 only if we are okay with getting any of the top 4 qb's. Me personally wants us to stay at 2 and pick either Daniel or Maye. Not often do you have a chance of getting a franchise qb without having to trade away assets. I just hope that we can be blessed with picking the right one. Past time for good things to happen to us! 😊

Hendon Hooker trade is intriguing. I was thinking about the Penix trade - the best part - we wouldn't need a dominant left tackle (the draft is full of decent right tackles), since Penix is left handed his blind spot is on the right.

In my opinion, the second we traded Sam, we were locked in at nmbr 2 for a QB...if we kept Sam, I believe trading back would be a distinct possibility ...

So the whole non visit thing with Drake Maye reminds me of something that Ronald used to do. He once said something along the lines of they spent more time with the players they had questions about. It's possible that this new regime could feel the same way and are spending more time with the players they're unsure about but could be considering.

Not sure if you’ve seen the reports but AP apparently already has done extensive research and has done, reportedly, 3-5 meetings with Maye when he was still in San Francisco.

As for WAS 2 for MIN 11,23,2025R1, MIN has "ratcheted themselves up" to believing this is reasonable for #3 or even #4. For#2 I think they may be also willing to throw in 2025R2 or 2026R1. Their fans are in a QB QB QB hysteria that is unbelievable. A top tier QB sells out their stadium season tickets. I like your trade for Hendon Hooker. There are some who also like Milton in the draft. I want to draw your attention to Driskel. The tape I have seen on him shows clearly (I think) he throws harder, more accurately, and runs better than Mariota, and may be in the Howell-Heinicke class. Everyone seems oblivious to him being signed and label him as a "campbody" but why did so many teams sign him? I think maybe he has not had a decent opportunity yet, like Heinicke, and really also, like Howell, and maybe a secret is he is currently QB1. Your presentation of these options highlights how VALUABLE the #2 pick is. Part of its VALUE has to do with the human element. GMs at other teams want to prove their judgment is correct and they cannot do that if things are left to chance. Owners want drawing cards that can improve things NOW for financially failing teams. these are two elements that have nothing to do with building a winning team. If we really do have a management and GM team that wants to win first and count their accolades and compensation later, as I am given to understand, they are going to exploit this opportunity where they have #2 and it is explosively overvalued.

I would be interested in all these dealings.

I am not sold on any off these QB at 2 besides Willam’s. We have so many holes to fill on this team to fill them will take a couple years .we need a QB bad . We need a stud tackle bad also.

Dotson is not the answer, and Terry is not geting any younger.. they have missed with their last two first round qbs. I am not convinced any of these qbs are the answer this season and going forward...

Nah. They had breakfast with Maye before his Pro Day. Still plenty of time for us to have a visit with him. And nothing says Caleb won’t still have more visits. He said he would. Not that I’m hoping but there’s time for everything.

I proposed this during the recent 4 Kings stream. The Commanders are fortifying their defense in a manner to support a rookie QB, less ready to play RIGHT NOW. This means they select Drake Maye. Had they already signed Justin Simmons, I'd be 100% sure. A STRONG defense keeps the games close, allowing for more time for growth by the new QB. Im not saying, I'm just saying.

I always been one for trading out of #2. Not big on either Quarterbacks Drake or Jayden. But I do think Adam Peters will pick one of them so I will be cool with that because I am a fan no matter what they do!

They will run the analytics and I'm cool with AP's decisions.

I like the way you're thinking and it makes all of your "scenarios" possible @louietee. If Hooker is that guy and Peters can engineer that trade with Minnesota I would really consider it, but I would not select the tackle at 11. Alt is the best LT by far in this draft and then there's a big gap after him. I would select the tackle with the 23rd pick. That 11th pick would be reserved for a blue chip player (I.E. TE Bowers, OLB Latu). To be clear though my #1 QB in this draft is JJ McCarthy. Should be interesting what Peters decides to do.

Why is NO ONE talking about Bo Nix? Sure he's NOT Justin Herbert or Josh Allen, but he's also not exactly Carson Wentz!

What if Arizona offers Washington Kyler Murray for 2? If Arizona loves 1 of the 3 qbs and could grab Harrison at 3 they might find that hard to resist. Murray and Kingsbury reunite and the rebuild is immediately ready to go at qb. What if Harbaugh offered Herbert for 2 so he can get his boy Mccarthy and finish taking the Chargers out of cap hell and Harbaugh can start making the underachieving Chargers how he wants. Other picks can be added in these scenarios to make the deals work. Washington may have to add a 2nd and a 1st next year but solidify a guaranteed franchise qb with Herbert. Maybe a coupl 2nds to Arizona to complete the Murray deal. Both scenarios solidify Washingtons decades long qb problem. Out of the box for sure but as you say louie, if the teams want it to happen it could happen.

Penix jr is the best pocket passer with some mobility in the draft. As a pocket passer he still took less sacks than the so called top 3 qbs.

I mean personally Maye not getting anything extra stems from him bombing his Combine presser/interview and not acknowledging he has to improve his body mechanics, implying he'll always throw the same way... I was open to him until then and there's been nothing that's changed since then that I'm aware of in terms of him stating otherwise. Perhaps he was trying to tank his draft stock, perhaps he's open to learning more behind closed doors. But to me that was a layup question he should have made, and he missed the interview layup as well as a bunch on the field. I like McCarthy a lot more than Maye atm, so I would be open to it if for some reason they were out on JD - but I don't see any reason to be out on him. Out of the three only one of the qbs is a blue chipper right now and that's JD. McCarthy and Maye could turn into that someday but they are not that at the moment. I think McCarthy is more starter ready than Maye day 1, though. No way will the fanbase tolerate starting Mariota lol. Maye could start but I'd be worried about him just having another Sam Howell scenario. Really best for a team that isn't as eager to have a not terrible to watch season. A lot of other teams haven't been as down bad as WAS fans for a long time. Fans just want to have a respectable team, at the end of the day. I'm curious what happens but all signs point to JD for now.

After careful consideration JJ McCarthy will be the pick but because the hype around the other two QB’s the first scenario with Cardinals make sense…pick McCarthy at 4 and Tackle at 27. Unless you give one of your 3rds to come up higher in the 20’s to get your Tackle. JJ McCarthy fits the kinda QB Adam Peters looks for…and he wouldn’t be wrong on this pick. Just think better athletic Purdy with ability to scramble and has arm talent…

I am starting to think Drake May and JD will be top 10 QB in the next 3 years. The idea of trading back does not hurt my feelings. The only reason why I think its ok is because QBs have a higher failure rate than top tier WR or Tackles.

The Detroit trade, interesting but, should Washington also asked Minnesota for not only a 2025 1st, but also a 3rd considering that the Vikings will have two 3rd rounds comp picks because of the huge money haul contracts that Cousins and Hunter signs. Not just the 1st 2025 alone.

I like 2 scenarios, move to 4 and get a QB, or trade straight with Minn and trade with SF for HH. Not big on taking Penix. The issue to me is getting other teams to agree; would Minn really give up 3 1sts to go to 2, and would SF really trade HH with the BJ fiasco taste in their mouths? Trade between Zona and us gets us "a" QB we want, and a shot at our franchise LT, if we need to throw in 40 or 67 with 27 to get to teens, again if we can find a trade partner. We still then have 2 seconds for BPA. The question is how much Zona wants choices.

I came in with an open mind, but I can’t get behind a trade back. You’re not gonna get an opportunity like this to take a potential franchise qb without having to trade up. I personally don’t mind whether we take Drake or Jayden, but I can tell you I don’t want any other qb and I certainly can’t walk out of day 1 without my franchise guy. The only way I’d be fine with it is if the Patriots wanted to wanted to make sure to get there guy and then we get whoever is left between Drake and Jayden.

Could you imagine not trading Montez Sweat and Sam Howell heading into this draft. You would have leverage. You hired "basketball guys" who scared off your top head coaching candidate. If Peters really wants JJ the Arizona trade makes sense. I would have a problem with him at two but not as much at four. I think Daniels and JJ are much more ready to start than Maye which makes them more valuable in the short term. Getting the second first makes the possible trade very appealing. I'm not sure Arizona will go for it but the logic behind this scenario is sound IMO.

AZ can trade the 4 for Minn 11, 23 and still have their 27 this year. And likely the first next year anyway.

I just stopped it after you named Jayden, Drake, and JJ; lumping them together. But I lump Nix and Penix Jr in with Drake and JJ. The only guy I can see standing out of those guys is Jayden. So In my opinion if they don't want Jayden they should definitely trade back its pretty simple.

I'm listening and I'm following what you are saying but any Scenerio thar ends up with us having McCarthy, is a failure I'm my view. Even Drake Maye would be a risk of failure. Maye has bad mechanics that doesn't seem like something the coaches are going to change with him. I love the idea of picking up additional 1st and pick but, I don't think that is even fair trade value. What is the pts for #2 and then the pts value of 4 and 27? And we absolutely need a QB. You off the deep end for saying that. There is no way we roll with Mariota at QB

Trading back with the prospects available this year makes no sense and they will probably be in the QB wilderness again . Get your guy at #2 and be done with it

Im cool with whatever they choose as long as we get a QB in the first round. The trade back and get a qb in later rounds argument is laughable imo. Take a look at the 8 best teams (my opinion) in each conference and see where their QB was drafted. AFC KC 1-10, Bal 1- 32, Buf 1-7, Mia 1-5, Cincy 1-1, Hou 1-2, Pitt 3 - 75, Clev 1- 2. NFC SF 7 - 262, Phi 2- 53, Det 1-1, Dal 4-135, GB 1-26, LAR 1-1, TB 1-1, Sea 2-39. 11 of 16 have Qbs drafted in 1st round. 8 were drafted in top 10 and 6 were drafted in the top 5. The data does not support this notion that it's "foolish or lazy" to just draft "flashy" names in top of the 1st round. It's actually how you build a contender in the modern NFL.

Fleecing the Patriots is the easiest scenario. Trade back with them because we’ve been so good keeping our plans a secret and it might get them nervous. This would only work if we liked (2) guys out of the (3). Desperation is a stinky cologne Lou. I could see a team like Minnesota packaging a king’s ransom kinda trade for us to the point we have no other choice but to accept it. Everything and anything SHOULD be on the table. Houston built there team because of the Watson trade. It was a haul. Perhaps a “haul-like” trade back is what we need too to start this process correctly. There’s gonna be a team desperate. How desperate? Not sure… curious to find out though.

Hendon Hooker is underrated but I really don't want another project as a starter. I liked him a lot coming out, though. It's just too big of a franchise change to trust with him as opposed to JD for me personally but he would be an interesting #2 ahead of Mariota - whom I really never want to see play in WAS. Could combine him with Penix and have an interesting formula in a weird trade back scenario. I like Penix he just needs a soliddd backup. Given, everybody looked awful under Arthur Smith in ATL.
