There's an even more forgotten commander than Thire in the Coruscant Guard..... Commander Stone who had the honor of serving along side Representative Jar-Jar Binks on a rescue mission to Florum
We can’t forget CC-5869, Commander Stone. Who had the enormously difficult job of keeping Representative Binks alive. One of the toughest jobs in the Republic.
The Shock Troopers don't deserve the hate they get. They have a noble job protecting Senators and other dignitaries and sacrificed themselves without question to save Padme. Not to mention they've helped me turn the tide more than once in Fall of The Republic.
TCW and their weird morality they blame coruscant guard because they are """bad""" but excuse the 501st who have another Nickname everyone seems to forgot Vaders Fist. if TCW fanboys think the coruscant guard is ruthless and ""bad"'" they dont know anything about the 501st besides the TCW kid friendly version and even in the clone wars they did many things to get a respected Reputation and it aint because they were goodie to shoes
@@laisphinto6372 yeah, especially considering that the 501st stormed the jedi temple *before* order 66, and the new kenobi show has proved that to be the case.
@@laisphinto6372 I don't think you understand one of the points of the clone wars, it makes us fall in love with clones especially the 501st only to drop the bombshell that they end up storming the temple in revenge of the Sith. They weren't Vader's fist yet and they weren't evil before order 66 and even during order 66 it wasn't by choice they where being manipulated by the chip in their head. Even though I don't hate the coruscant guard I get why people hate them the majority of em never really saw combat and where stationed on comfy coruscant, and they usually acted above their other brothers who where in active combat.
@@evildrporkchop4628 Correct. On top of that a good number of senators were corrupt pos who deserved fates worse than death so whoever blindly protected them was seen as being just as bad. This is why within the Star Wars universe Separatists hated Jedi. Blindly serving the Republic and never holding them accountable for their corruption which from many Separatists perspective was obvious. The irony being that Separatists didn't recognize the corruption of their own leaders.
I think Fox represented most of the guards hard ass MP. While Thorn represented the body guard like role of the guard. Anyways for how strict the guard is their commanders looks pretty cool. Definitely one of my favorites.
Hey Geetsly’s, there was another coruscant guard commander that everyone forgets even more than thire. Back in the florrum arc the was commander stone who worked with jar jar to rescue anakin and obiwan from hando’s pirates. I just wanted to remind everyone, and thank you for the great content lately.
@@icrywhenisleep2130 well, as we know, Thire personally helped pick up Anakin from Mustafar, so he most likely stayed Imperial, and Stone probably did too
Honestly I found Fox's hatred largely undeserved seeing as any other Clone put in his position. Perhaps alike Rex, he would've behaved like Fox. I mean what clone wouldn't follow an order almost without question like Fox seeing as he is "the right hand man" to Chancellor Palpatine (A.K.A) the quintessential president of the Republic. Also the deal with the cleaner droids (assuming maintenance is regularly done) why would he be suspicious if he's done his hundreds of times.
Out of all of the clones Thorn has one of the best helmet/armor designs(only beaten by my personal favorite of Commander Doom and his troops). His bravery and skill was wasted on the Coruscant Guard, IMO he wouldve been more useful as a ARC Trooper or in command of Galactic Marines perhaps
Yoda: Friend, we used to be. A person, you are. Ability to make a decision on your own, you have. Whatever you choose, not mad at you, I will be. Commander Thire: I know, sir. I wished the circumstances are different. But anyway, good soldiers followed orders.
Cody (he protect Yoda): Thire, snap out of it, you being control by inhibitor chip. Omega: he tell you truth, The kaminoian put all clone troopers the chip. Thire: good soldiers follow order. Cody: Will see about That. It was perfect to see Cody vs Thire.
man I always loved the Coruscant guard, They're a very accurate representation of a war time police force. They care about getting a job done and doing it most efficiently regardless of cost. It makes the atmosphere seem so much more realistic.
ive always been attatched to fox because one of the first logo sets I got when I was a kid was a droid spider tank that came with him. so he was the first clone commander I really knew as I hadn't watched clone wars enough to know who rex or cody or any of the others were. it devastated me when I realised how hated he is and no matter how much I agree with that I always remain attached to him lmao
When I saw Thire for the first time in Clone Wars Episode 1, I could’ve fallen in love. I thought he was super cool, since he looked so different from the other clones. I never forgot him, and never will.
All I see is a absolute legendary Chad who has one of the best last stands in Clone wars and brought honor and bravery to the Coruscant gaurd(RIP Commander Thorn), A pretty chill Commander(Thire), and he who shall not be named and if we do say his name...he is known as the bitch who killed Fives.
THAT'S the goddamn problem. 'all he did was follow orders'. Just look at the likes of Rex & Wolfe, who's fully willing to question & even snub orders, when they have doubts about said orders, & you'd quickly see why the latter are the fan favourites. Although Fox might have gotten a lot of unjustified hate for what happened to Ahsoka & Fives, the fact that he's one of those by-the-book pricks who's all too eager to bully others remain unchanged.
@@FalconWindblader Fives was a rogue ARC Trooper, a clone that was trained to quite literally destroy countless enemies in the battlefield. He had already attacked the Chancellor of the Republic and fled, and was now holding hostage another Clone Captain, who also was leader of the 501st Legion, as well as a decorated Jedi Master who served as one of the Republic's most accomplished Generals. Fives was behaving erratically, and Fox even shouted for him not to go for a weapon. Fives did anyways, and Fox had a decision to make. Either try to stun him and hope the blaster doesn't go off when he seizes up from being electrocuted, or shoot him and eliminate any further risk to the hostages and his men. He was absolutely in the right to shoot Fives. As for Ahsoka, he found her outside of her cell, armed with lightsabers and standing over dead and incapacitated troopers. When he demanded to know what had happened, she fled instead of trying to explain it to him. Then while pursuing her, he found more dead troopers, killed by a lightsaber. The only two Jedi known to be present at the time were Anakin, who wasn't a fugitive and wasn't under suspicion, and Ahsoka, who was armed, on the run, and from what he had seen had already killed troopers. Ordering a shoot to kill was logical.
@@brodyking7095 I used to share that opinion. that was until i saw just how EFFECTIVE the stun setting was on dropping the troopers all the same, as demonstrated EXTENSIVELY in the Bad Batch episodes. whatever Fives could have pulled, shooting a live round or a stun round would have made little difference as far as putting Fives down at the moment was concerned. hell, if he did indeed perceive Fives to be that tough, Fox could have just fired a second round instead right afterwards, so he REALLY had no reasons to go lethal. As for Ahsoka, a shoot-to-kill would only be reasonable IF Ahsoka did actually at least ignite her lightsaber, just like how a real life officer would, or at least should, call for their men to shoot to kill if the fugitive does resist, which means lifting the gun & firing back at the pursuers. the way he worded it, his men were to do their best to kill her as soon as they saw her, regardless if she even was seen with a lightsaber in hand, let alone actually igniting it.
@@FalconWindblader I’m sorry to say, but Fox did what he had to. If he protested, someone else (maybe Thire) would’ve killed Fives and Fox would’ve been imprisoned. Like I said, the military isn’t a place for individual ideas.
My headcanon of the numerous commanders of the CG: Fox: head of CG stationed on Coruscant Stone: head of CG that guard senate personnel. Maybe died/got demoted at some point? Thorn: head of CG that guard senate personnel. Died on Scipio Thire: head of CG that guard senate personnel. Promoted after Thorn’s death
I really love the Coruscant Guard, particularly because they are the first sign of imperialization and also because i really like their red markings :)
I always liked the Corasaunt Gaurd better than the 501st because they look cooler and none of them turn into rebels after the clone wars. I also like fox better than rex because fox was more like what clones were supposed to be originally.
I don't see why people hate fox so much just for being... a clone. a clone the way kaminoans expected them to be. loyal soldiers that comply with orders from officials. and what I just realized is that Thorn is loved because he did his duty, however he did it to serve a senate member(Padmé). I don't know if Thorn would've done that for Jedis. I believe Coruscant guard is much like 2003 clones and legends clones. clones like rex and other that have personalities are great but do not fit the first role of a clone. I dépendant thinking should've been kept for null's arc and alpha arc and other less modified clones.
Well, the Coruscant Guard aren't liked that much, but they at least did do one thing - protect Coruscant from Grevious at the beginning of RotS Really, they had one job - and I guess they didn't fail...? (I mean, Palpatine still was "kidnapped" - but then again, that was his intention to begin with)
Dee Bradley Baker said in those three words; “FOR THE REPUBLIC!” what could be said about The Clones in hundreds of thousands of words on a page. Every bit of the Clones as a culture and a people, rather than simply a genetic template, was said in five syllables.
Fun Fact: In addition to the irony of Thire being tasked with hunting Yoda, Jek, one of the other troops that helped Yoda in that first episode, was actually the other trooper that Yoda beheaded alongside Gree during Order 66.
Clone Commander Thire was always one of my top favorite clones. From that first episode of clone wars, it was because of him I could make a connection with the clones. Gone but never forgotten.
I always wondered with the way they were portrayed as acting in the prequel movies and the Clone Wars anime if the Guard were not already under the influence of activated inhibitor chips with specialized instructions. Also, that bit from Adama should actually be attributed to Sir Robert Peel as Adama's sentiment is just a partial rephrasing of his reasons for creating the modern police force as peacekeepers separate and distinct from the military and militarized city guard/national guard in the 1800s.
Commander thorn is my favourite clone, but ive always thought the rank plaque on his chest made him a grand marshall commander like bacara and cody, does anyone know if thats true?
To be fair to these hated Clones; Coruscant Guard still had a lot of duties. Riot Control, searching for Insurgency on Coruscant, protecting Senators off world, and other Core Defense Contingencies. Coruscant Guard had a lot of responsibility. These guys pretty much served Palpatine directly, more so than any other unit for obvious reasons, and did what the Chancellor asked of them. Commander Fox himself was basically Palpatine's Right-Hand Man, as far as Coruscant military forces go. Clone Commanders and Captains don't just fall off trees, and Fox was chosen for such a position likely because, as Geetsly mentioned, he was simply good and what he did, and was a capable leader. He didn't deserve such an unceremonious death at the hands of Vader, you guys hate Commander Fox WAY too much.
We never learned about thorn, we never knew what he was like, he did what any clone commander would do probably even fox, thorn would do just as well maybe even worse then fox in working at the prison.
When I was a kid I absolutely loved Fox, he was just super cool. I still love him but in a more pity and forgiving way seeing how he’s been treated by the fan base. I understand the reasons why people dislike him and I kind of share them, but I still feel bad for Fox. If you look at his position, he’s just been put in a lot of tough situations. Not to mention he was the closest to Palpatine which meant he was easier to manipulate.
I Like how the Thumbnail Shows Commander Thorn twice (on the left & in the middle) but the one where it writes hated should be Commander Fox 🥲😂 Fun Fact: Commander Thorn ist based on Thor & Commander Doom on Dr. Doom 😂
Man, i remember that they made thire plane white in the lego clone wars game, i mean if they can include commander stone they could at least get thire right
Commander Thorne was a whole unit by himself. I have no idea why Fox had such an ego and such high confidence when serving alongside a Chad of the highest caliber like that, Thorne was everything fox thought and wished he was 😂 That last stand alone made him a forever fan favorite, how can you not live such a genuinely awesome dude? “FOR THE REPUBLICCC” Still sends chills down my spine, man took several to the chest and STILL had fight in him. Even that commando droid knew he was still a threat.
I always liked the Coruscant Guard. I just hated Fox after he killed Fives. Can never look at that commander again without thinking of that tragic death he caused.
Some people are mentioning Stone, but my boy Fil is seriously forgotten. I don’t think he’s confirmed to be coruscant guard but his colors looks just like stone & he has some coruscant guard looking elblem on his chest. RIP Fil.
I hated Fox. He killed a fan favorite character, threw the peace talks by not inspecting those droids, didn’t even see Ashoka in the room but framed her (CCTV can be misleading), and his death was one of those great moments in new comics
Let’s face it if Fox wasn’t the person who killed one of the fan favorite(my personal fav) Fives he would probably be on most peoples top 10 list of clones. Wish they used someone else to kill him off
The Shock Trooper could have been a elite unit that could have rival any Legion if they were place in actual combat compare to guarding the capital of the Republic. Really it should have been a Elite Fighting force for the Republic to show the slow progress of the Stormtroopers rise to prominence.
Since Rex was a captain in the 501st, who was above him as commander? He never really got any orders from others other than anakin but commander is technically higher rank.
Commander Fox deserves more sympathy. He executed all his orders without flaw, and was the textbook definition of what a soldier was. I hate him for his actions in jailing Ahsoka, I hate how he quickly shot Fives, but to be fair, his actions were always warranted. If a Jedi bombed the castle, of course you would immediately jail them and wouldn't let a friend of theirs (Anakin) talk to the perpetrator. If a clone had lost his mind, had attacked the head of the galaxy's Republic the Chancellor, and had even trapped a Jedi general and a clone Captain whilst the lunatic had weaponry (not to mention Fives pointed a gun at the Coruscant Guard), you have both the authority and reason to take out the threat. Again, I don't call his actions just, but, to be fair, he was enacting his life's purpose as a clone, and executed all commands with efficiency. If only Fox would've seen the injustice on the planet he was tasked on guarding, I feel he would be more liked. He was just a pawn in a greater scheme, after all.
I almost feel bad for Fox. He represents what the Republic and Kaminoans wanted the Clones to be like. He is exactly what they were hoping to achieve, a ruthless and fearless warrior who’ll follow orders without question or tainting them with his own ideas. The vast majority of his brothers were allowed to individualize and develop their own ways, usually through contact with their Jedi generals. Fox and his men didn’t have any of that. They had ONLY their duty and their distance from the frontlines to shape their personalities.
I want to end the Fox hate. He did what every clone would do in his situation. He was no worse or better than the clones around him. He did his duty, and that’s what the clones were for, to serve the republic, and he took that to heart. He is a true soldier of the republic.
to be fair people hate on fox because he just doing his job. Fox was the perfect lead for the CG, extremely loyal. even if fives was not killed Papa palps was going to kill fives.
