The common mistake every Aligner Dentist makes 

I think that for me when the doctor approached the subject was that I would have a beautiful smile and didn’t explain that my teeth were not in the right place and would later have issues because they are opposing each other and that pressure can cause fractures and you’re going to lose your teeth. I didn’t understand it wasn’t about vanity , nor my parents. I think it would have been better for me to have had them instead of these fractures I have now .

Is not that we don't care some of us can't afford the luxury of doing something for looks alone. .. your point still stands but its not about caring, I think most people care about how they look even if they say otherwise, but if you have to choose between something functional and you care about because of aesthetics it's normal to choose the functional one (and I'm not talking just teeth) for exaplmple, lets say this working family has someone who needs their teeth aligned but dispite they own 2 cars one isn't functional. They managed to save enough to get it working but now you are talking about fixing a smile. A second car can make them more efficient, one parent can take the kids to soccer practice while the other one is buying groceries, they can each drive directly to their jobs instead of having to spend an extra hour on traffic, fixing a car they already own would be useful... They could invest the money they saved into fixing that car, they would likely choose to use it for something health related if arrises, but If they perceive the purpose of aligners to be merely about looks they could be suic*dal over wanting to do something about their looks and still choose something unrelated over just something superficial with no functionality

I have lots of issues in my teeth. So I care only about making my teeth healthy. I don’t care how they look like 🤷🏻‍♀️

you are a Doc. not a salesperson.. you could as a Doc say that its important for xyz .. to straighten then up for your brain.. posture and so on. to not develop xyz.. to say we make them look xyz.. no one cares
