This came out in '86 the same time I met my husband Gareth. We had 34yrs together. I lost him to pancreatic cancer in 2020 at 58yrs old. This song takes me back there. Love you Gar. Miss you love. He didn't want to leave me this way.......❤❤

Im 46 and my sister was 49 she died nearly 4 years ago and growing up she loved bronski beat and Jimmy Somerville and listening to it in 2024 reminds me of my childhood some of the best music of the 80s ✌🏼💙.

1986 and my dad was the only person i knew who had the means to buy a CD player, so we went to find some CDs to buy. There were about 4 stores in our entire city that sold a small number of them. His entire collection was 8 track, vinyl and cassettes and asked me what to buy. i wasnt even a teen but my recommendations were: Pet Shop Boys Eurythmics Communards Howard Jones i think my 13 year old self nailed it.. they all aged well.

In the 80s My sister was the coolest person I knew. She listened to this song, and introduced me to Rage on ABC tv . We lived in a small town in western Queensland, Australia. This song reminds me of the cherished parts of our otherwise abusive childhood. Set me free!🙂 best song ever! Here we are in 2022

The same with me, Owen. I grew up with the worst excuse of a father who prefered his gambling and drinking over getting off his BIG lardarse backside to go out to work and provide for his wife and 3x son's. He was always a vile man that as i've become older, wiser and knowing that i've given my 4x son's all the love and respect that they deserve so much and my son's make me and my wife so proud, every single day. My father was violent, abusive and evil in mine and my 2x brothers lives as we grew up but once i turned 16 i was outta there as fast as i could. I took the decision to cut my father and mother right out of my life a long time ago and i'm so glad i did. They don't deserve to see how well my son's have become such amazing young men.
