Multiply, since I suck at drawing I often just color pages from Manga (pretty poorly tho), and for that multiply is just perfect since it kinda makes the white areas see through and with that I won’t have to trace all the lines to draw under the lines
Thank you so very much for this tutorial. I have never mastered all of the different layer options, until I watched your tutorial. Everyone else skipped over important steps and or ran through it so quickly that I simply gave up. My digital artwork had improved to a whole new level, and has boosted my confidence. Thank you!!
the soft light for lineart thing changed me. I've been struggling with coloured lineart for all my life, I usually just hand paint it because I can never get it to look right T_T If you take your lineart layer and fill it in, then use that as you're base/clipping layer for colouring it works great!
Hi Ghost, would you please consider going slightly slower. It’s hard for me to follow when you open a new layer, where you place it, and when you select a new color with each new blending mode. I love your videos. Thank you!
Hi Marilyn! I totally understand that, I have started a Patreon community especially for this reason - where I can offer slower, extended tutorials of my latest videos 👍👍👍
You can also change the speed of the video so that it plays more slowly. On my iPad, the controls become visible as an overlay on top of the video when it is paused. Select the three little vertical dots in the upper right corner to open a control menu. There’s one for playback speed that lets you slow it down if you’re having trouble keeping up, or speed it up if you get a presenter who speaks too slowly or rambles a lot . It was a game changer for me!
Awesome thank you! really trying to get into my digital art and blending modes have always confused me a bit. This video was great, nice and easy explanations with quick demonstrations, exactly what I needed!
Thank you GP! May you please consider doing a similar tutorial on Blending Modes going a little slower? Showing more samples of each. Take your time. Thanks again!
Wow! I had no idea these things existed. I accidentally made one of my layers a multiply layer today and noticed some weird stuff going on with the color so I decided to look it up. I can’t believe how powerful Procreate is.
This was a great start for me to learn more about blending modes and understanding them. You showed some great tips in how to use them, so I will experiment some more. Thanks so much, Procreate is so rich with tools and you really helped explain them.
Your video is so detailed and helpful, I am making a list of all the features for reference as there are a multitude of blending possibilities. Thanks for everything !
Fabulous, thank you! You’ve turned me into a follower of yours. Waiting impatiently for my new iPad Pro so I can emulate your tutorials. So much to learn and remember! I’m hoping practice will do it. Thanks again!
Dude keep going I love listening to tutorials while doing other shit but gt lost n it just becomes noise and confusing....explained easy nor dragged....thanks
Do you have books on topics of Procreate like showing tutorials on cool stuff to make ect? I got a Procreate Guide book but I don't find too many out there. I have slow processing speed so I like to read the books ontop of watch tutorials.
nice videos, i watched a few and they explained everything i needed to know!!! as a illustrator guy working with vectors only for ten years, photoshop and procreate somehow is hard for me but u explained it very well! i watched other videos liek this for photshop but i never finished them because they were so long haha
Thank you! I have been meaning to look for more informaiton on some of those blending modes, but had not gotten around to it yet. Now I have all the information I need
I think there is a lot to be learned from this video, but the presentation was too fast to understand what you were doing in you demonstration of each blending mode.
curious why you mentioned that multiply doesn’t add saturation to the shadows? of course it didn’t you used black lol you’ve gotta use an actual colour this method just added extra steps
