In this series I will be going into depth on every feature Serum posses and explaining how to utilize it to create sounds. Things like Panning? Why do we pan? How to utilize it in a sound? etc... My favorite thing about Serum has nothing to do with the sound and everything to do with how easy it is to use. The interface is thoughtfully arranged. The text is clear and easy to read. The knobs and buttons look nice, but aren't distracting. It's intuitive in a way that masks (and often compliments) its depth. Serum's success is well deserved. Many people think it's a best seller due to its sound. I propose that it's a best seller because of its unparalleled ease of use.

I was surfing the net to find a decent tutorial. I found myself skipping and get bored from all other stuff except yours. Great approach to layer* in the structure. Some videos are “learn to master (quick)” Real producers do or want to master their tools and this is the only way to do it. I’m a visual and kinetic learner so this is for me.

I am getting my Masters Degree in Film and Television Scoring this November, and as part of the program, there is an electronic music module, where the instructor strongly recommends Serum, but also says this is NOT the first synthesizer we should start with if we have no previous experience. Very useful and in-depth information in here. 👍 Much more useful than those videos, where they show you how to turn each knob to recreate a particular sound. 8:23 Haven't watched the whole series, so maybe you get there eventually: But you can actually control the stereo width of the Unison section in the Global tab.

I'm new to the production world, but I think what I'm starting to see is that what you want to do is sit and practice sound design on the side, maybe even take some like classes or online type of stuff, with very high quality sample creators like landr or the people that create kontact expansion packs. In the meantime just use really high quality samples, because think about how many years is it going to take you to be able to really create some great sounds for your music. Most producers DJs want to use analog type sounds anyways, how many years is it going to take you to get to that gear?
