As someone who has spent a lot of time mining some things I took from this video: never primarily mine topaz just a waste of time ruby is better optimally have an etherwarp and platforms to tp to while ruby mining so you never have to run to the next vein idk how it takes you 15-20 minutes to set up ruby spot it realistically should take 5 minutes max assuming you have a decent mole level wherever your ruby spot is make sure you spawn in that area or at least close so it should only take 2 minutes to get to your spot jade as just as equally as good as ruby from my experiences if you have a scatha jasper drill is better than gauntlet if you have decent parts being maxed out doesn't take 14m mithril powder it takes exactly 3,934,508 mithril powder it may cost 14m if you want every perk but the only ones that affect gemstone mining are mining speed, mining fortune, and fortunate it's good to have skymall perk as you can get the 20% reduced pickaxe cooldown its optimal to have sunny side goblin egg part on your main drill then a blue cheese egg part on a secondary drill so you have the enhanced mining speed boost and the 50 fortune
also using a gauntlet to mine out your route can be useful so you don't waste fuel on hardstone, + if you are mining ruby in lower down coords I preferably use heated which can add a minimal increase to your profits
For anyone coming here for Ruby, the old slayer building and dragon skull (not GDrag) have enough Ruby for an early game (yog armor + Ruby drill) miner to reliably mine, and depending on the location, could be useful with slightly better setups
Maxed mithril powder is 11,499,208 and for gem its 23,540,045 (19,856,705 if u execute powder buff, since u dont need more powder gain when all other perks are maxed), for fortune 2, speed 2 and professional, its 11,159,602 gem powder
I also recommend getting sky mall perk as its bugged and -20% cd (mining speed boots time) works also in crystal hollows. On top of that, this perk will not change until you revisit the Dwarven mines, so you can just wait for -20 cd and then mine almost 20% faster the whole day.
i didn't even get 1/2 flawless divan armor (yes, not even perfect) setup and i'm easily getting 3m/hr by mining... lapis literally just 1050 fortune, slightly levelled efficient miner perk and that's it, also if you have refined reforge, you can get ink sacs which is pretty quirky, but still nice, i'd recommend doing it in early game tbh
A way you could make this the full complete guide is talking about spend to setup in total and profit per hour so we know how fast we can make back the money we invest
ye, i live in eu with terrible internet (between 150-250 ms all the time), my setup isnt quite "hyper"maxed but i got 8m of each powder and maxed divans drill and armor and i make like 22m/h while sweating my ass off, while casually mining i make probs like 16-17m cuz i chat a bit and i lag a lot
easy for ironman, grind a bal pet, a really op gemstone drill, millions of powder, and some op armor. Of course that's easy. (what im saying is we need an ironman guide)
Should I sell dungeons stuff and do this or keep playing dungeons until I can afford this(ultimate goal is hyp so idrc if I cant play dungs until that)
I have a question hehe, how should i upgrade the mining speed / fortune perks? Should I upgrade them both at the same time ( equialy) or should i upgrade for example mining fortune first and mining speed after that? thanks for the help :)
@@mr0gan951 i did that and my pristine drops where lower bc i had less mining speed, i dont really know why but i feel taht u get more pristine drops the better mining speed you have
well 11 days later im hotm 6 from like ch grinding for only a couple of hours a day, im also 15% of my way to hotm 7 so i should be able to get hotm 7 in about week
Corrections (more like suggestions): 1. Third downside of topaz is the incredible downtime compared to everything else. If you want a better topaz place you should get a topaz spot like you'd get a ruby spot, and even then, you'd be better off mining ruby. 2. Another upside to jade is that it has very, very little downtime if you're even somewhat decent with your etherwarps. 3. Jade and ruby are actually about equal (as far as I know both have hit 30m/h post nerfs), and I consider jade better because there's less setup time, and sometimes when you're mining ruby the gems won't regen and your profit dies. Really, it's up to preference though 4. jasper drill > gemstone gauntlet (if you have below 1k mining fortune, or if you have ruby engine and sunny side on the drill) 5. being fully maxed takes 12m gemstone powder and idk how much mithril 6. heated > auspicious (only if it gets you to the next tick) still, by far the best gemstone mining guide i've ever seen

funnily enough there is *one* route for ruby for infinite mining blocks, assuming you always speed boost on topaz (ive tested this even with skymall bug)
Thoughts on the snail pet as an alternative to scatha? I do ruby mining, so it's not super applicable to me, but I might invest in a snail if it's viable.
