Makuta Teridax, the main villain from Lego Bionicle, while not representing the concept of evil incarnate in that world, did many, much worse things than the Overlord. That guy, when he was on the side of good, ended a war by feeding the warriors to the local animal exhibition. When he became evil, he commanded an army that wiped out all live on several islands, erasing entire species from existence. He hired bounty hunters that wiped out an entire team of elemental heroes that protected the capital city. He murdered at least three people by himself, two of them were villains though. He also executed a plan that resulted in the death of eight of his siblings because he considered them competition. And then he ruled the world as a godlike being for two months before a moon crashing on him ended his career. And people were so scared by him and his mysterious powers (shapeshifting, darkness, destruction etc.) that they started to believe that he was an evil brother of the Great Spirit they worshipped. Fun fact: when the character was brought back for the 2016 Netflix show the designers showed a version of him that looked a lot like the Crystal King titan, which the community since then called Overlord Makuta. There is certainly a meta connection between those characters.

I honestly wish that the overlord would have a chance to fight the ice emperor, imagine the fear of fighting someone who has defeated you before, now stronger than they could’ve possibly ever been before. It would’ve been a really good scene showing the dynamic between the two and how much they have grown.

I just gotta say, I love how the writers included the Great Devourer bit. It turned the overlord into the villain from S2-S3 to the villain of the entire series. The Overlord started the conflict, then was defeated at the end of the series. As much as people rip on crystalized, it made sure the Overlord will go down in history as the biggest Ninjago villain and I couldn’t be happier about that!!!

Exactly! It made it so the Overlord was the true orchestrator behind Garmadon’s fall and how he has been planning everything out since the very beginning. One of the best things Crystalized has done honestly.

@@Snipe_BLOX I’m saying that the overlord was the overarching antagonist of Ninjago. I know he wasn’t the only villain, and I’m not discrediting the other villains. All I’m saying is that a majority of events in the show wouldn’t have happened at least as we know them if the overlord didn’t influence them. (I.e using the Great Devourer to infect Garmadon thus causing Wu to bring the four ninja together to protect the golden weapons.)

The Crystal King, OVERLORD, is this shows equivalent of Palpatine. He plots his attack over long periods of time usually many years apart. He can cheat death, just not by cloning, and he does eventually die in the end to the youngest of the characters in the group, aka being Llyod instead of Rey.

Apperley in the original plan for crstalised it would have been revealed that they FSM and the overlord were the same being until the FSM removed his own destructive powers creating the overlord. It kinda sucks that was removed

Just remember fans, I existed after the Pilot and season one, I was created to be bigger and badder than Garmadon, and I was. Almost won (three seperet times.). I'm flustered to have fans. It's admirable, but foolish, but I suppose being the scariest villain has its advantages.

When he eventually returns with the merged world I wonder how strong he will be with all realms being combined think of the speed he also gets his strength back, I’d also say with the departed realm he’d have a really strong army and maybe he’ll get close this time for his villian council (I think with the merge clouse would become human as I’m guessing the departed realm will be a secluded island and you need some sacrifice or just someone who knew the person you want back and sacrifice a pig or something and then anyone who escapes/is freed/is resurrected becomes human so clouse would) but just imagine his power

This was an Incredible Video for The Origin Story of The Overlord My All Time Favorite Antagonist’s in The Lego Ninjago Franchise. I still suprised that Scott McNeil The Voice of Dinobot, Rattrap, Silverbolt and Waspinator in Transformers Beast Era Voices The Overlord. Scott McNeil did an Incredible Performance Bringing This Terrifying Monster To Life.

I am wondering if the overlord is the first spinjistu masters oni half which was expelled from the first spinjistu masters body? it would explain where he came from and why he turned into a dragon of all things in season 2, and maybe the reason he wants the powers of creation on his side is because they technically belong to him it would also explain why he knows spinjistu in the third season. the overlord might genuinely want to bring his twisted vision of peace to ninjago.

You also forgot to mention that the Overlord's Crystal King form was destroyed by the Golden Ultra Dragon after it picked him up and flew around his temple, before tossing him into the central crystal, destroying it. I believe that the only reason the Overlord wasn't defeated earlier in the season was because of the central crystal, and that his physical form emerged from the crystal.

Can we talk how pretty much the most climactic ending for the story happened at s2? Granted, I am now 22 years old, and I did not commit to watching the rest of the series since even as a kid, I felt spent after the battle with the overlord (thatvsaid I did watch the tournament season along with rebooted, unfortunately, and the master class that is the sons of Garmadon) Of course, they thought that it was going to be discontinued after this, but it’s still a bummer that the most climactic battle happened at the beginning of the series rather than at the end

The dangerous thing about the Overlord is that his plans get better over time to the point he will have victory one day. He is nice and patient with his servants but deceptive to his allies and enemies. The main question is why didn't the Overlord incorporate the Oni into his dark army since he should be seen as a god to the dark entities.

I was disappointed when the Overlord had no interaction with Zane, i mean sure his interaction with Lloyd and Garmadon was cool but i wanted Zane to be included And i don't really like it how he went from Invincible Stone Army to Nindroids with Laser eyes just to an Cristalized Stone Army, why not a mix of both with his Dark Abilities and new Technology

The death of Zane is the saddest episode to me lol. But who says the Overlord will not return? Light and shadow cannot live without each other. So that means, just because you defeated the Overlord doesn't mean he will not return, for he will get his revenge again. As Misako said: "Where there is light, there also will be shadow" As the Overlord said too: "Where there is light, there will also be shadow" They were right. Same goes for human nature too. Where there is good, there will also be evil.
