Bugsliding is real useful in royal, I initially believed you had to land into it and hold steer the whole time but neither of those are true, it a really flexible tool and its probaly useful in half of the royal maps
Just subscribed! Very well made videos. But I didn't love the neo slides section. To me it's more intuitive to say the car needs to briefly slide in a straight line (tangent). Though the Input explanations were essential.
“You don’t want to change gears while drifting” is something I’ve heard several times. Is that just because it reduces acceleration same as not wanting to steer normally during a gear up?
EDITS: It has come to my attention that I've made a mistake 18:29, where I write 1st gear starts at 100 and 2nd gear starts at 101. This of course does not make sense. 1st gear starts at 0. Furthermore i mentioned at 3:30 that you need the standard or club acces to race wr ghosts. That is wrong, you need to get the club access of the game. UPDATE: The game has now added Steering limiters by pressing 1 through 9 on your keyboard! This means that the controller exclusive/favorized tricks mentioned at 8:41 and 11:31 are doable on keyboards now!
I really like how you actually described *how* to steer during a bobslay curve. Every other tutorial only mentions that you want to stay between the red lines, but never do they say how you can do that. I noticed that not only you steer softly, you also NEVER COUNTERSTEER when your car wiggles between the lines.
What a well put together guide, everything important is covered! I would maybe just mention the Trackmania School (TMS) campaigns that can be a great way to understand better / get better on specific surfaces!
heyy thanks for the video, great for beginners. Do you think maybe you could work on an updated version? I heard the ice physics changed and also with the release of console and everything. Still great video thanks!

Made with HARPA AI
Very nice video! I personally find gear management a lot easier than neoslides but that's just personal opinion I guess. Maybe another trick that's worth mentioning as it is also used in the campaign maps is the "bugslide" with icy tires on dirt
Very nicely done video. I am a simulator driver so these little mechanics is making a huge difference in my times. you made it very easy to understand and got so much info into such a small video.
at 11:06 you said you can slide, because tries are still frozen from the ice. But in the video you get a slide because there is a tarmek block right above a grass block. so you did get a grass slide, not a ice slide.
Texture filtering is important to have at a high setting in all racing games, as texture filtering makes all textures (surfaces) look better at an angle, or as they are further away. And in racing games it is very important to have a clear view of the track and that is why i think Texture Resolution and Texture Filtering is important to have at high settings.
When I open the game it looks lothing like that you see at 1:20 All I se is Earth spinning, one big collum on the right wil my buddies and on the left I can choose what to do (play or build and stuff like that).
FINALLY a good video explaining the gears in an easy to understand way. I never really grasped it, but now I do. Same with the neoslide. The rest of the video is superb too. Thanks! The only feedback I have is that the video is a bit quiet, I had to turn up my audio 2 times as much as I do on other RU-vid vids.
I just managed to get all gold medals in Spring 2021 so I decided to look up some tutorials so that I can get the authormedals. Been playing for close to 40 days now.
Saw someone else mentioning maybe adding a water tricks section. I half agree since they just recently changed the ratios for action keys. Water tricks are a little harder now anyway. I think an "Additional Trackmania Tips and Tricks" video would be greatly welcomed. Could cover those "Track specific" tricks like ice 360s and whatnot. Maybe a video covering the different track genres and typically how to play them. (Like new players confusing nascar tracks with fullspeed now knowing you don't break, just release the gas). Anyway, great video. Definitely helpful. Makes me wanna actually try to get good at neoslides and when to s4d.
Instant sub! The one thing I feel lacks in TM is that we have little good tutorials, and for a newer player it's impossible to learn the basics alone. Thank you for this
As a beginner, I wanna say: Thank you! Also I have the stupid problem of not being able to follow a ghost to look at a line. Could you point me into the right direction?
WoW, Thank you so much for this tutorial, it really helps a lot. Just please turn up the volume a little bit, I can't hear properly even with my volume up. Thanks Again!
I wonder if this will be translated into real world driving skills? This is good video to watch if are actually going to drive a vehicle! STEP !: WEAR PROTECTIVE GEAR!!!!!!
So... you want feedback on the video, huh? Well, be careful what you wish for, here it goes: This was exactly what I was looking for, amazing video, thank you!
Every bobsleigh tutorial ever: "The red lines guys" That's like telling me to drive on the pavement instead of on the sidewalk. I already knew that. The problem is the ice on the pavement you intoxicated crap drawer. Anyway thanks for explaining it properly.
Yoo incredibly high quality video dude. I'm getting into trackmania right now and this helped me a ton. Plus, noticed you're a fellow dane. Respekt bror.
I smell danish, haha? 🇩🇰 I just stumbled upon your videos, and I must say that you make some of the best TM content out there. Great production and easy to understand. Is it possible for you to make some sort of guide on plastic or the different kind of track-styles (tech, full speed etc.)? Especially wet tires on plastic, which I have big problems with on this seasons 08! New subscriber here for sure
i've been playing for nearly half a year and did NOT know about gears....welp i just thought they were speed indicators:/ really appreciate the video! there is so much that was not apparent from ingame experience alone (or maybe i'm just still not good enough lol)
Excellent video! Neoslides for me are impossible on controller. I can do it with kb but I usually only use a controller... After a decade of playing, still quite frustrating.
speeddrifting, wiggleing on dirt, neo and bugslide - NONE of these are tricks, they are bugs that started on ESWC and the devs never removed them. btw why did you not mention the flow and ride tricks here? these are real tricks imo....telling a beginner or advanced player those bugs are tricks is missleading....i play this game since eswc and sure i use all of them bugs to give me better times, but pls dont call them tricks.
Hi Jnic, really like the video! Would you be able to do an updated tutorial on different things that have changed since this video, including the new ice physics (bobsleigh & ice slides)?
On current campaign on track 15 how do I stop sliding everywhere I’m loosing so much speed which is making it a pain to get author medal I’m playing on ps5
Actually my game lags very hard when I increase the graphics even 1 point about lowest graphics options ........pls give me some tips on graphics in more detail
Very nice explained guide video. keep it up. Ive been a keyboarder player to TM Nations Forever about 1 year. Bought controller last month when I got into Trackmania 2020 and I still have issues with how sensititive those controller are to steering. Inside of the settings, inputs, Ive set sensititivy to lowest and deadzone to 0.100 if I remembered correctly yet I cant sometimes keep it to smooth steering. Any tips of other than that settings that I can take a look into?
Awesome video, could you make a similar one but with everything about track level design? So I can make awesome tracks even if I'm not top level player?
Yo jnic this video is great! I just wanna share some minor feedback on your voiceover... I think your intonation is a little exaggerated and would much prefee your natural voice when explaning. Just my opinion though, so feel free to ignore my comment.
What i need is gyro on my controller because i have the worst case of stick drift like if i hold R2,I move to the right But i cant turn left and if i dont hold R2,Then i cant turn to the right
hey, im still a bit confused about the gearshift thing on dirt, grass, and ice. You mention that the if you are steering during a gearshift your car will slow down. Does this mean that the gearshift won't take place and you'll lose speed overall, or that you will accelerate slower? Or is it neither and im completely misunderstanding it?
Hey! great video, very on point and easy to understand as a beginner player. One small request for sections where the viewer is supposed to look at the steering indicator. If possible, make it bigger. Hope the youtube algorithm blesses you a bit more!
Thank you for this video. I knew most of the stuff (at least in theory), but it really is helpful and your explanations are great. Also, I finally got the neoslide with just one brake tap, but Trabadia's tutorial shows it with 2 taps and I find that the timing is way more forgiving on controller (but maybe you lose a couple thousandths). Way easier for begginers like me, who played TMNF 12 years ago and I'm only actually learning now.
Great Video. 6:35 When u'r in air, it's not really the countersteering that stop u'r rotation, but steer whatever the directection. If u steer left, and no steer, and steer left again, it produce the same behavior.
Thanks for ice explanation. I downloaded the game just like 4 days ago and when it came to ice tracks i felt like Its not even possible to complete some of them
Hmmm i have a steering wheel wich is probs semi optimal for this cause i keed to throw it around way too fast. The only consol controller i have is from a wii 🤣 idk if thatll work though
