You are the absolute best content creator for tanks in my opinion. Your comprehensive and eloquent videos really helped me during DF and what you do for the tanking community is a godsend
As 3400io player it amazes me when I still learn things from all your videos... Thanks again for all the countless hours you spend understanding and learning things only to pass them on
You are a top tier teacher. I don't care if you are the best tank or not. You are easily the best at imparting your knowledge. I don't care that you mispronounce word. It's part of your charm! Please keep doing what you are doing!
As a tank m+ enjoyer who very rarely do raid, i didnt know about the co-tank weakaura and always struggled to know my co-tank stacks. Thanks for letting me know !
Out of all the channels I’ve ever used as a resource for wow info and guides yours is easily the most useful. Absolutely loving your videos this expac.
Quazii your channel is the only one that matters. I can't begin to tell you how much all of you addon profiles and advice have helped me in M+. Thank you.
I can’t thank you enough for this video. Never played Wow retail and only played sod but first time tanking. You have covered everything that a newbie like me would need. Thank you so so much!!! Time to put it in practice!!!
My best friend picked up WoW right at the end of 10.1.5. She hit level 70 on a Prot Paladin without ever learning what an interrupt, CC, mitigation, or cooldowns were. It's painful how little the in-game teaches players expected skills for getting started. I don't think she's ready to tank keys, yet, but I've been coaching her on raids. I'm still trying to get her off of clicking, but I've taught her interrupts, mitigation, situations when she needs to use a cooldown, taunt swaps, trackers, and the importance of positioning. She's got a long way to go, but your guides have helped.
I’ve been following you since DF season 3, and that’s the best thing related to World of Warcraft that I’ve done. You taught me so much about tanking and made my game life so much more enjoyable with all your profiles etc. I’ve said it multiple times in other videos, but again thank you for all that you do, you’re amazing.
To all Tanks starting out in TWW. Yes you will fck up ! And get Criticism ! And that is perfectly normal. Always remember you are not the one Role waiting 10min in Queue, ;)
@@holgerpfand9473 bruh i think he's saying nobody gives a shit about flamers, and that the joke's on them that neither them nor anyone has the balls to play a role with responsibilities, so they sit in their queue nest waiting to get fkin carried. it's the truth
And don't forget to tell DPS to wait for 3 Sunders on the boss before attacking. Jokes aside, Quazii's Plater module showing threat is new to me and is obviously very useful. Overall this is probably the one and only tanking guide you will need. Covers all the bases in thorough detail. A true masterclass in tanking.
thank you so much for this. Ive been a casual for my whole wow life and decided to challenge myself this next xpac. Looked through lots of videos explaining m+ and tanking mechanics but your content is BY FAR the best. Again, thank you so much :)
I've been tanking for years but I still decided to give this video a watch. Even a master must hone the basics in order to stay relevant. I will probably incorporate some of your awesome UI into my game. Clean, efficient and just beautiful. Great video, you got yourself another sub from me!
incredibly valuable, I don't make content but if i was going to, this is the video I wanted to make, but you did better than I ever could. Shared it with the guild. Cheers mate, thanks
Tanking lets you group fast and control the flow of the dungeons for sure. Its a lot of responsibility because you need to know the dungeon layouts, effective mob count and how much you can pull BUT I will say healers have the most raw stress role. Theres nothing better in WoW than when you just mesh with your healer well and have those perfect dungeon runs. It’s so good.
Thanks so much Quazii, you've helped me so much with tanking - learning both the fundamentals and the subtly of tanking :) I appreciate you and your videos!
Of course you need to backpaddle, example in raid encounters spawn pools, like the fire add on mythic druid boss in vault (fire add), n in larodar in amidrassil mythic
MDT and planning routes has to be the biggest turn off for me:( I enjoy tanking in heroics and stuff but the thought of wiping everyone cuz i pulled 1 too many mob into ppl leaving the group holds me back. Insane guide though♡
I would love a cloth tank. A tank that uses a mana shield instead of a massive hp pool. Think of a Knight enhancer or what they are called in DA inquisition. It would be really hard to get working in wow but it would be really cool and something new and fresh.
Thanks once again Quazii. The addon and WA's are super useful, I just wish Plater didn't have such a trainwreck of a UI as it's super powerful for visual information on the screen.
We had a mage that pulled agro all the time on boss pull and died all the time right at the start of the fight. It was kinda funny but he was so self obsessed he just couldn't get why it was him letting everyone else down. He always blamed the tank too.
Hey Quazii As a Pug tank that loves running m+ for the power of team work, you make the best content, BIG respect Cant wait for your follow up on the tank changes, that might not be as hard /kite meta as you feared.. Do you have a video that can show a effective way as a pug tank to management interup/kick for the party
In DF tanking is the most brain dead role. Its like playing DPS but you're invincible. However blizz is trying to make changes to make it feel better in TWW. Hoping they pull it off.
@@Telados I feel like theres definitely some really fun ways they can make DKs abilities work in a more balanced system. I am a huge fan of sustain style mechanics but I think combat in WoW has just outpaced itself and they need to reel it in. The nature of WoW is to always push things further and get stronger and stronger. But the tide has gotta recede sometimes or we would all drown. Complaining about it is good tho, we need that to tell blizz what we want. Just gotta keep it classy
He has masterclasses on a lot of specs, but I think I would wait until his TWW guides because certain classes and the tank role overall is changing alot.
Counter to the threat point - the DPS can also make efforts to minimise their impact on threat. As a ret main, who plays 99% of my m+ with the same tank, we coordinate big pulls with my cooldowns, if I know a big pull is coming, and I don’t want to wait to drop the big pp deeps, I’ll just bubble with my CDs. Likewise abilities like fade, mirror images, feign death all help. Losing threat isn’t ALWAYS the tank’s fault. Sometimes DPS mains get caught up in the big number chasing.
G'day Quazil got a question is there a way to "link" the group selection numbers/colors of Mythic Dungeon tools with plater? so for example when you have a route saved on MDT addon that information from MDT gets applied to plater so when your in a dungeon the mobs in said could have number next to the bars or be a set color for each pull. Just an idea on using a color or number code to know what to pull without the need of a second monitor. Thanks for all the content you create
23:40 "it's not your fault that dps doesn't know how threat is works" man, if only they even trying to have that thought wow would be a little greater place to play)
Another great video but I have a fairly major problem with the title of the video. It should really be the COMPLETE guide for ALL classes performing mythics or something like that. The reason is that there are plenty of DPS and healer classes that do not understand kiting and line of sighting etc. I'm a healer main and watch every tanking video you do. So many DPS I have seen just let loose the fireball and forget as soon as the tank enters the room and then cry when they wipe
Hey, Quazii, thanks for the video, as a 2.8ish k tank, I found lots to learn here. I love the boss ability list you showed during the addon section for Sludgefist. May I please ask what that is?
Join a guild is my top recomendation. They will help you allot knowing you don't know anything really. They'l be patient, and help you become a master!! They also tend to just want to have fun. Don't join a guild that is super serious You will enjoy the game so much more having a little of that, but afyer that Doing random "PUGS"
Hi awesome guide and excellent work mate, I’m using ur ElvUi profile but I can’t change color clases on my gp, can u explain to me how to do it? Thank you in advance, all the best !
Brilliant ,but surely when you have aggro they should all be red? When i was watching before you explained the colour thing, i was confused at what was going on, maybe its just me :)
Let me just say - I work as a doctor. In most cases I don't feel good about giving youtube people a lot of views, because I don't feel their work is worthy of the money they get. With you it's the opposite, I hope you have a lot of success and make plenty of money from YT, because your work is very helpful to the community. Subscribed.
If you are the guy who pointed out the right side was softer than the left, in the previous upload - thank you. You saved this video lol. Hence the reupload (;
hi guys, can i ask how did you set enemy HP bar different color for caster and melee mob? i am using plater addon i cannot see that there..thanks for any advice
Any “casual” tanks out there? I’m trying it but I find that I just don’t learn routes etc. rapidly enough due to not playing for hours. Starting to think you can’t be a casual tank
You can find many routes on line, personally I don't learn that way. You can try running the dungeon as dps and copy that tanks route. You can watch a guide on the dungeon and than run it. This is my preferred method. I will watch a guide on the dungeon than copy the route and try to do the dungeon three times before moving onto the next. Once I get it mostly sorted I'll just start trying different things. Do I have a CD like incarn up, maybe I'll pull an additional pack and see if we can survive it. A couple of weeks into the season you'll probably have all the dungeons down. At this point its easy to fall into the habit of doing what worked previously but always try to push your limits. Failing something isn't a big deal you can always just give it another go and what you learn in 30 sec of failure can take years to learn if you don't push yourself.
I’ve tried tanking and I do it decently. However, with the timer in M+ and the WOW players need to do everything as efficently as possible, the whole thing is just unbearable. After being chastised by a mage in a +4 for NOT taking the route Echo took the NIGHT BEFORE in MDI, I just caved and switched. Now, I just stand back and throw lightning and lava. TWW looks great tho.
I just don't pay attention to chat at all during the run unless I'm asking something like: mana? As far as the routes thing goes it happens from time to time but shake it off in low keys there is a lot of room for error in your pathing. Besides what is good for MDI isn't not always good for pugs, particularly if there are skips which never go well. Hell I even plan on butt pull at times (Like the two wasps after the second boss in mists, expect those to get pulled.)
@@celestielsigh Yeah. I could. But I just wont. I play games for fun anyways. Let some other bastard tank. I just found the whole interaction funny. What a loser that dude must be IRL.
As a tank main for most of dragonflight and planning to go ahead with war within. Unruly players who have opinions about tanking like that, need to roll their own tanks and try so MDI routes. I pull steady and securely and for the most part, time all my keys comfortably. Idk why people throw such a fuss about “oh man we didn’t +2 the key” yeah but we still timed it without much hassle.
@@finallightning7 What joke? Make it right or it doesn't make any sense. Also, your statement is wrong. Just cause they nerfed the self healing of BDKs, it doesn't meat they won't be meta. As long as they keep doing twice the dps of every other tank, they will still be meta. So, in essence, YOU are the joke here.
@@FavoriteCrumpet Warrior/druid lookin' really good rn; DK nerf is like 75% healing nerf and runic power got nerfed so seems like no point in playing BDK even with 60% stamina buffs the blood shield nerf
@@FavoriteCrumpet Healing is Blood DK's reliance with tanking and Blizz straight up took that way; read the patch notes, essentially -75% nerfed death strike; THIS CAN ONLY BE GOOD IF WOW TUNES ENEMY DAMAGE PROPERLY (They don't have a good track record; gonna take a few patches) overall BDK seems not good :(
