You did a report comparing the USA to China. You are experts on the USA. But none of you are really experts of China. None of you live in China. None of you spoke to Chinese officials or Americans who live in China for a long time. So all of you think that you know what China is, but I don't think you really know what China is. You should really go and live in China and talk to Chinese people and understand what China really is. The problem with the USA is that it rely on people like you who don't know the real China, but pretends to know what China is. American businesses want the Chinese market but American govt and think tanks are sabotaging it because they want to keep China down and can't stop talking shit about China. You make a good point and sadly this situation is all too common in American think-tanks, political summits and academia. The problem is that active government officials or anyone actively receiving money or employed by the government cannot speak out on malevolent and counterproductive moves on our side. China only points out the US and the US only points out China. In the end the call for increased social, political and academic exchanges is the right call and the uncertain situation at the borders is a real-life observation most people in the field share.
That's exactly why Russia, China and many of the countries in the Global South would not waste time and money on setting up some egghead club by the name of "American Society" or something of the sort, because Russia, China and other countries just focus on improving their own society and well-being of their own people, instead of "lecturing" and "bashing with lies" those US-led Western regimes.
