I'm afraid you're right. I think the tried and true patrons of Disney are older. The younger crowd isn't as emotionally connected and will quickly funnel to Epic Universe and others. And too, people in general want new and fresh. Excellent report.

Thank you for the feedback ! And yeah it’s sad I’m 23 I grew up going to the parks, and sadly it’s loosing it’s magic for me, my money will now be going more towards universal !

Universal has ALREADY won the war. All they have to do is be careful and make sure Epic Universal opens without any big hiccups or delays. That will be when they pour salt into Disney's self-inflicted wounds...

It seems that Disney neglects their parks in the us and europe. I can understand if they neglect florida, because political reasons. But neglecting California seems shortsighted. Disneyland paris the most visited themepark in europe also hasn't gotten anything substancial in the last years. Only the smaller stepchild walt disney studios gets a frozen land. Speaking of frozen. I think Disneys strategy is trying to milk this ip dry. We get two frozen movies and paris and japan are getting new frozen content in their parks. But nothing else. The tiana retheme is whatever and seemingly nothing else.

I honestly don’t see why they would neglect any of the parks.. Disney world in Orlando brings in the most revenue. I expect a big announcement hopefully at D23 for something to be solidified but we can only hope …

The overall sentiment of this content is dead on the money. Universal's latest Epic Universe content talks about "spending a week" at Universal. This is deliberately targeted language to declare that they are coming after Disney as the main Orlando destination. I don't think Disney will ever disappear due to the somewhat obsessed fans they seem to have a lot of. At the same time there's no doubt people are unhappy with the way Disney is doing things these days, including spending all day on your phone and spending a ridiculous amount on extras just to have the same experience they had 10 years ago. A decent amount of market pressure on Disney is a good thing for everyone, Disney nuts included.

It’s sad to see people even Disney bloggers or influencers make comments here and their about the parks being not what they used to be and how universal is doing much better but will continue to shill to Disney when anythung new comes as well, people will still obviously go to Disney, but I don’t think people realize how big of a impact epic universe will be!

Disney trips were always a symbol of the great American middle class. As that middle class decided to reject social democracy and all things egalitarian, instead opting for playing "winner take all", thinking of course they would be rich real soon, well, they lost. The 1% they decided to support doesnt want them. As a result they are bitter as hell - Disney trips are too costly for them, a perfect symbol of what they did to themselves when they voted against themselves. The expression, "the magic is gone", is code for this stuff is now too expensive - the magic is still there, but not the middle class we grew up with in the 50s thru the 70s. You might say, "you can't reap what you didn't sow". As for the other parks, yeah, they will be cheaper and many will say more "magical" not because they are higher quality, they wont be, but because they will be lower class. Stop kidding yourself and get real.

Disney has consistently increased the cost of everything in the parks, removing free amenities, and much more in favor for a watered down, IP centric park and attractions. People want some return on their money, with the free parking at resorts, magic bands, transportation from the airport and fast pass that was the peak of Disney, now that’s all extra. I don’t know what your whole rant on the middle class is going on about but this magic is fading and people that attend other parks are not lower class they are just seeking more for their money. They are bitter because Disney does not care about the consumers just lining their pockets…

The Disney parks are packed every day. People pay anything they want. Their movies bombed, so, they are just going to soak up the money from the parks, without putting new money into them. No updates mean nothing to them. They are raking in the dough.

Disneyworld has nothing to worry about. Im from New York. I alone spend over 10k every spring for my wife, 2 kids, and me since 2016. There's nothing like Disney. The park is packed even on the price hike. Its literally a small town. They've been busy. 2017- Pandora 2018- Toystoryland 2019- galaxys edge -skyliner 2020- Riviera Resort -M and Minnie RR 2021- France expansion - Rattatoulle 2022- Cosmic rewind 2023- Tron - Moana 2024- World Celebration & communicore hall -Tianas Disney isn't going anywhere. Been going since 2016. I skipped 2020. Ill go to Epic when it opens but its a 1 and done for me like Universal. That Disney bubble has many resorts and downtown Disney. Im fine with all they have for a couple years. I haven't been to Universal since hogsmead. Both beautiful lands but absolutely nothing on Disney. 4 parks. 2 water parks. Huge shopping and eating district. 10 deluxe resorts with activities. Crazy video.

There is nothing I can say to change your mind clearly , as with most Disney adults I can’t change your mind , yes the parks are packed and people are coming but you can’t deny the magic is going away taking away all free extras, free bus, free parking , free magic band ! Yes people are gonna spend thousands of dollars at the parks, but it took 4 years to build the new Epcot area which is very disappointing, 4 years for tron, which is also a very short copy of a coaster, and since Harry Potter land back 10 years ago universal has been taking more of the market share! Everything Disney has planned, is all blue sky and not confirmed they have no answer for epic universe. I can’t change your mind but I hope you can see where I’m coming from, as for galaxy’s edge minus the 2 hour wait everyday for the ride the area is so boring and lacking the original idea and not to mention the failure of the starwars hotel. Universal is gonna take a big part of the market share in 2025 and Disney has nothing planned even the biggest Disney influencers like @ Mickey views has been saying the same thing !

@ParkHoppersProductions I understand where you're coming from. Everything you mentioned was subjective, tho. Your personal opinions. Universal didn't affect Disneyworld when it opened. It's crazy to say Disneyworld needs an answer to Epic Universe. They don't. Disneyworld is leagues ahead of Universal. Leagues. 4 lands and a hub is absolutely nothing when compared to Disneyworld. It's like saying Motel 6 will outdo the Hilton because Motel 6 has a new building for more guests. I, for 1, would never have my family stay at a motel. So there's that. Apples to oranges. That Disney magic is still there. We get treated like royalty every visit. All those perks you now pay for, you have to pay at Universal as well. I can not see how people can compare honestly. Universal itself will be competing with Epic because there's no Universal magic or bubble. Again. It's like comparing Walmart to the 99cent store. Yes, you can buy similar products, but the 99c store is like a small section of Walmart. Walmart has a Starbucks, electronics department, and a variety so big you can shop for hours. The 99cent store is in-and-out. 10 minute shopping. Right outside Universal is the hood. Disney has an iron dome, well, its own district. When I'm at Disneyworld, I don't feel like I'm in Florida, minus the weather. I get putting pressure on Disney to continue with innovation. I don't get the "Disneyworld needs an answer to Epic". The only thing Epic will do to Disneyworld is motivate them. What I listed above that Disneyworld has done in the past 6 years, it's more than Epic Universe as a whole. No one said " oh my lord, Universal is done because of Pandora, Galaxy edge, and the Riviera Resort." It's because there was no comparison. So yes, I'll stop at the 99cent store only if I can't afford Walmart or Target. I'll never be broke, by the way. Good take tho on your part. I do see what you're saying, I just don't agree 100 percent. Enjoy your weekend.

@@bojack2011 Keep preaching. You live in the Disney bubble alright. You just refuse to see what's outside. PS: your defense is laughable. You pay out the rear for everything. You think the "fastpass" is free? You act like you get free transportation to the parks. You don't. You act like you get free parking. You don't. Disney is the hood now. The difference is they want hundreds of dollars for people to enter Mickey's hood.
