The Congregation - Softly Whispering I Love You (with Original Sound)

Restored original audio version.2014
Re-dub of a live performance from TOTP 30-12-1971.
This is a work in progress, hence the logo.
The original BBC video has no sound at all. The song was sung live, so it was unique. An audio recording has been recently discovered and here i have matched it best as i could.

Such a very beautiful song. I remember it well when it was released in 1971. I would love to be back in 1971 again and meet all my relatives and friends most of whom have now passed. It makes me feel lonesome. How quickly life is passing.

Softly whispering I love you Echoes of your voice are calling Still through my dreams Softening the chill of the breeze Through my window I can see the moonglow Painting silver shadows on a rose Coloured land A world that we walked hand in hand In a day of gold coloured by the glow of new love Oh, woman, I can feel your warm face Ever close to my lips And the scent of you invades The cool evening air I can close my eyes And you're there in my arms Still and I know your soft kiss Turning into music every beat of my heart When I hold you close to my heart And I hear your voice whispering I love you. I can feel your warm face Ever close to my lips And the scent of you invades The cool evening air I can close my eyes and you're there, You're there in my arms still And I know your soft kiss Keeps turning into music Ev'ry little beat of my heart When I hold you close to my heart I hear your voice whispering I love you. I can feel your warm face Ever close to my lips And the scent of you invades The cool evening air I can close my eyes And you're there in my arms, baby And I know your soft kiss Keeps Turning into music every beat of my heart Oh yeah, When I'm holding you close to my heart And I hear your voice whispering I love you. I've been hearing this song on a local community FM station for the last few weeks, finally looked up the lyrics and found out who it was. Honestly I thought the male singer was Tom Jones first time I heard it. What an absolute classic, the effort that Brian O'Shea or Brian Keith throws into this is incredible, what a voice!
