@@its_dead-boy1730in there defence regarding the revelation that valak was once an angel, it's not an entirely pointless revelation as demons aren't formerly angels in every paranormal film/tv Lore. In the lore of the supernatural universe for example all the demons were once humans.
I'm kind of terrified of what would happen if somebody summoned a really high-ranking demon. So far we've seen an earl, in Malthus, and a President in Valak. Those are the two lowest ranks in the Ars Goitia. What would happen if somebody summoned a king or something? If a President can do so much damage and be so hard to contain, would it even be possible for humans to fight back against a King?
These movies make demons look scary but if you study the Bible you see that they're just a bunch of losers. A legion of demons commited suicide just because they heard Jesus name
Then I would look forward to a high ranking priest to take out the king. It would be interesting to see how it would all go down. Because I would imagine all high ranking priests/ministers from different religions unite to annihilate the high ranking entity. That would be epic to see go down.
In Pope’s Exorcist… they summoned King of Hell… the demon corrupt the whole christianity by possessing a priest and committing mass genocide in the name of religion.
@@muhamadakhiruddin welp when a king of hell pops up get the a bishop, and if lucifer does it, summon the pope and get him, if more then one God's there and he's pissed and the demons are screaming
I really hope that’s the next movie in the series, as much as I loved the devil made me do it, I would love to continue on the previous cases involving valak and sister Irene, instead of moving on to the next chapter.
The Nun was so bad though... Who cares about the details when the main story is just so awful. Valak was a joke. No amount of snake drawings is going to redeem it.
@@cjcatague2607No idea. I just know that's the rule. I don't make em, and I find it best not to question em. The rules existed long before me, and will exist long after me, so its just best to accept them as is. There's a reason they are how they are, and if no one wants to tell me, then so be it.
Me: hm it's 20:42 and pitchblack in my room CZ: uploads video about a demon Me: I mean if I turn my phone's flash on I'll see Valak if it comes for me. Wouldn't be able to prevent it unless a picture of a cross works but yeah
For those who have seen The Nun 2, it’s now revealed why Valak is so powerful. Unlike most demons, Valak used to be an Angel who was kicked out of Heaven by God alongside Lucifer
@@VanessaLol421clearly not if they purposely highlighted that fact and even used it as the reason for Valaks strength remember this is fiction and therefore will have its own fictional lore that may or may not be based on irl things (completely up to the writer)
It's funny with that line that pretty much says that humans give things names as a way to remove the unknown from whatever they're labeling. Like, given that the unknown is our biggest fear, I think it rings very true that this would be the thing to yeet a demon out. Or anything really. A scary presence with a bunch of hair haunting the kitchen sounds terrifying compared to a bear broke in and wanted the food.
I absolutely agree. I think what also adds to the scare factor is that there's not a lot you can supposedly do against a demon or spirit or whatever. even if a bear attacks you, you can run away or hide or fight back, and you have a chance to survive, but that's not something you can do it you're in a conjuring movie. it's the fear of the unknown and a lack of ability to save yourself or someone else, I think
The one demon who succeeded in scaring me by it's look. It's also interesting to see his true form resembling Malthus with those horns and charred body.
@@Someone-dr5vi right? I mean, I get that they're a demon so they're supposed to be evil, but how am I supposed to respect a demon if they're just so disrespectful? I mean, taking people's souls is one thing, but bullying is just unnecessary
Fun fact: when Valak first appeared in the mirror in the Conjuring 2, I was so utterly terrified in the theater that I scratched my best friend because I was holding her wrist so tightly. I still can’t get over how she LITERALLY got the blood of JC spit on her and she wasn’t destroyed. Yes, I know she spit a snake into the dude but seriously…
Couple of other fun facts: Out of all the priests who were claiming to be exorcists, Ed and Lorraine Warren were the only ones to actually be recognized by the roman catholic church as true "demon-ologists" Also when the Warren museum was still open they would have a designated priest bless the grounds multiple times every month
Yeah that’s a big problem I have with these movies. Good seems so powerless over evil. Sure good always wins in the end (sorta) but it seems mostly powerless
The fact that valak uses a snake to scare most of his victims must be a reference to the fear of snakes, aka ophidiophobia, the rest are based on probably other people's fears
With Christianity, people started looking at Snakes as something that should be feared. Snakes are seen as creepy, slimy and evil creatures that could kill a person within minutes with their poison. People of faith believe snakes are the advocates of the devil. Goes as far back as the beginning of time where Satan is infamously known for tricking Eve into eating the forbidden fruit and causing Adam and Eve to be cast out from the garden. This has caused countless others to associate snakes with lies, revenge and trickery. Snakes have become a recurring symbol of the struggle between good and evil. They also serve as a constant reminder to people not to let their sins tempt them.
@@Bl0ndiex0 well, let's not forget that the snake is featured on the medical symbol as well as the staff used by hermes in greek mythology, which idk if that means anything good or bad but oh well
@G E T R E K T my science teacher had a hog nose snake that she kept in one of those terrarium tanks like the ones you use for a spider, or something like that
I think, in the conjuring 2, Val did want to possess the little girl. My theory is that she wanted to kill Ed all along. (Hence why Lorane kept having visions about his specific death with the spike) the reason why he kept getting hurt and almost killed, BUT NOT, on the way up to the room was to make it look like Val didn't want him up there when she really did. If it was too easy Ed would catch on, and maybe she thought impairing his vision both physically and mentally through adrenaline, would lead to him blindly running towards the window where the spike would be waiting. That's my theory anyway.
Zac, "this thing" in 8:29 is actually the corpse of the nun that took her life in the beginning of the movie. she's in this attire when frenchie took her corpse to the icehouse...
I really appreciate the original design for Valak (the beautiful sculpture) and I love that Wan kept it in there as the final form we see before Valak is sent back to hell. Great work finding that and showing us that.
The Valak thing is great but my favorite part of that story’s history is how Ed and Lorraine were never called, they just showed up, nobody had any idea who they were and wanted them to leave lol
Interestingly enough, Murmur is the name of a demon in the Ars Goetia, the same grimoire mentioned in this video. I wonder if that was a literal reference to another high-ranking demon, Murmur.
Taissa farmiga was in American horror story. My ultimate favorite show ever. I was really pleased to see her join her sister in the conjuring universe!!! I saw the nun 2 TWICE. It was awesome, unlike the first one but still!! I highly suggest it
they are actually one and the same. The holy grail is often depicted as a chalice and there are also claims it supposedly contain the blood of Christ...obviously they didn't use a chalice in the movie but the symbolism was present regardless albeit it in their own unique way.
Enfield was a real case btw. It was an actual real event that happened where they documented seeing a chair slide across the room without anything touching it or forcing it too. Bill (William Wilkinson) had died of a haemorrhage while sitting in an arm chair. It is said that a Dark entity had possessed bill’s spirit making him hostile. After Enfield the children grew up and left home. Peggy (the mum) died in the arm chair in the same way bill had, by haemorrhage in the same chair as well.
@@ursimplegirl6220 I think the reason they didn’t was cuz in real life they weren’t that big in the enfield case it was a British paranormal investigator I don’t remember his name
@@ursimplegirl6220 It's really not. The Warrens were parasites. Anytime a paranormal case started to get major attention, the Warrens would show up uninvited like carrion birds to a corps, they would ask a few questions, take a few photographs and then leave. Next thing you know, they were on a talk show, or releasing a book or holding a lecture at a collage university where they would claim they had a bigger part in the case then they actually had. Such was the case of the Enfield Poltergeist. The Warrens showed up uninvited, asked some questions, took some photos and less than an hour later they were on their way back to the States where they claimed they were instrumental in the case.
Wow, I love how this was researched and explained. I would've never known how the story of The Conjuring was this exciting and informative. Kudos for researching and putting up this video!👏👏
@@saramso5891 Easy, they were judged in the first place for interacting with humans against direct orders to not engage with humans unless they were given a specific assignment by God. They chose to go against God so now they are judged and cannot any longer be redeemed, God will let them take over the world and rule it for 3-7 years according to the bible, through their human elite aka iluminati.
I like imagining these scary entities physically moving toys and dolls around to scare people. Just valak crouched down pushing a toy truck like "that's the money shot"
Doom Slayer: Demons...They are everywhere...MUST...KILL THEM ALL!!!! Valak: You failed. Just as you failed everyone in your life. Doom Slayer: You have no idea what's coming... Valak: Tomorrow, a world will missing its hero. Doom Slayer: *Stabs Valak* No.
Your presentation of in-depth knowledge, research and extended knowledge of the various subjects in the movie, is first class! You must love demonology and the entities living hidden amongst us. Otherwise, you wouldn't be able to share such rich content. Well done dude! 🤟
the fact that he’s so monotone, even in his jokes, makes it even funnier. i just imagine him trying to keep a straight face for the duration of everything.
15:32 Anybody notice that Lorraine is wearing all white just like sister Irene is as a nun. I also wonder if Lorraine ever met sister Irene during the exorcism since her and Frenchie seems to be close.
I’m horrified of the nun and just trying to conquer my fear and watching this 16 times is not quite working Edit[Wow thanks so much for all the likes I’ve never gotten so many🙏🏻
I thought you were gonna say Loraine Warren is probably related to Sister Irene since she's the actress's sister in real life. Missed opportunity dude! That aside, this video is awesome. I always find videos like these so interesting. Mixing real history about demons with the movies that have them in it is fascinating to me. 👍
Lorraine was a real person and the actresses being related has nothing to do with the movie’s universe. So it’s completely understandable that he wouldn’t mention that relatively minor piece of trivia
Cz is on it! I get more and more excited every time he releases a new video. Horror history and things you missed are awesome segments. I can’t wait to see what he would expand to. Professor just snapped so I gotta pay attention!
@@whitelampmrz I'm pretty sure that's not Valak's true form. Valak's true form is said to be a child with angel wings, riding some kind of two headed dragon but I don't rlly know
Personally I think it was intended to have dual meaning implying both the name and Valak's relationship with Lorraine and her ancestor. Demons are said to have a knack for telling the truth in a horrifying and almost face-slapping satirical way. They're good at using the truth in a way that hurts their victim.
Fun fact : The inverted cross is the *Petrine Cross* which is a symbol of the martyrdom of St.Peter, the first Pope of the Catholic Church. *Edit 1* : I do not want to get into a religious debate due to being late here already (1:57AM GMT-3), and i do not want it, so please, do not try to annoy me with religious debates.
She killed herself to stop Valak from taking her body and being able to escape the abbey. It was basically a sacrifice to contain the evil as best as she could
She made that sin bravely knowing it would send her to hell but it would stop Valek from possessing her body and leaving the nunnery. So it was a sacrifice to Help others, I think God would recognise this and forgive her, knowing she had no choice.
I believe God is more forgiving than people realize. If WE humans are able to determine that she committed suicide for a good reason I believe God who created our feelings and understands them way more than we do will also realize that she did a good thing and would not be considered a sin.
And Yes, it is possible for Valak to temporarily possess Janet before he full on takes her over. See, when a demon possesses a human, the body has to be given to the demon voluntarily, and if it’s not, the demon has the force his way in by driving the person’s soul to its breaking point. If the soul reaches its breaking point, the human is compromised and will be susceptible to full on possession. Once that happens, it can be extremely difficult to get the demon to leave since the demon has bonded itself with the person’s soul
If you look further into demonology & the religious texts it's really interesting and completely terrifying. If any of you have ever seen a ghost or experienced a haunting it forces you to realize why so many people on earth are spiritual and why so many forms of religion exist. And it will also make you realize that all those old texts & writings through history are because people in the past understood this and believed it must be taught to others.
I noticed that many of the people who've seen paranormal activity are also religious or have a family who is religious. They read about these tales, or we as children are recounted tales in their various cultural iterations (for me it was La Llorona, El Chupacabra), and these stories plant a deep-seated, unquestionable fear that then morphs that person's perception of reality, to varying extremes. And these tales are powerful instruments because they effectively prime the brain. Then when something abnormal happens it becomes almost like a self-fulfilling prophecy: you only see something if you want to see it, kind of like the brain tricking itself as a way to appease the ego, to follow the instinct we all have for answers and association. At my childhood home my catholic mom claimed to have seen a black man wearing a red flannel shirt who would go into my dad's shed. She explained this in great detail to us. My (also catholic) father who had initially brushed away her claims, out of a family of 7, was the only other person to "see" this same exact ghost. Afraid as all hell I tried looking for this man too, but never felt a sudden cold like my parents described and never did see him or anything ghostly in that home. Although this must have frightened my parents a lot, it makes me curious about the connection between religion and the paranormal. I guess it's my own on-going anecdotes and observations I've accumulated when speaking with my religious vs non-religious friends and family. If ghosts are real then why can they walk through walls but never fall into the ground? lol
And if you’ve read Hallucinations by Oliver Sacks you learn the same concepts from a completely different angle lol. The human brain has a lot of interesting quirks
Hey Mr. Abraham Lincoln videomaker. I applaud you for your immense effort into putting this video together. It was fun to watch and also a case study on how to do a research on the subject...I am impressed!!
"The demon seeks those with little faith in the Lord" Thou shall not tempt an atheist such as i. For i may not have faith in the Lord, but you best believe i got faith in these hands you are about to get
na na, we have extreme faith in the belief of no god, so we are actually much more faithful to out tendencies faithfulness, hence the demon can go air yeet itself.
Fun fact : irl the Enfield house is very eery But there is a house in Yorkshire that is supposedly more haunted it's called poltergeist house and it was so haunted to the point where the owners closed it for a long time
If I may weigh in on why Valak tried to have Janet take her life, I think it was to mentally attack Ed in that he failed to save her, like how he used Daniel to hurt Father Burke. Also, I think Janet was largely a lure so he could trick Ed and get at him, hurting Lorraine, destroying her faith that God did not help her or her husband when they needed him. Remember, Ed said that demons have to break you down before they can do anything serious with you. What better way to break Lorraine down than taking away her other half?
I dont understand something. Sister Irene said that, sister Victoria was the last one in the abbey and sacrificed herself for not being posessed, but what about those nuns during the film?
