The conservation and restoration of the first complete edition of Ptolemy's mathematical works edited by the astronomer Erasmus Oswald Schreckenfuchs, printed in 1551 in Basel by Henrichi Petri. The edition includes two impressive woodcut maps by Johannes Honter which were first used in the 1541 edition are characteristic for their geocentrism and are the first printed maps to depict stars as seen from earth.
