I think exposure to moisture is probably more negatively impactful to sneaker storage. Think about shoes that have been stored in just the cardboard shoe box it was purchased in. Over time we see those shoes rubber/plastic deteriorate badly and they were not in direct sunlight. I’ve been more focused on keeping my sneakers in as dry an environment as possible and airtight. For those I keep in the shoe box I place them in a ziplock bag and I drop in silica gel packs to help reduce any moisture. I recently purchased some airtight clear shoe boxes for my sons shoes. And he adds the gel packs for extra protection. I do agree with not allowing direct sunlight on your sneakers as that will also lead to there decomposition. Time will tell if this strategy works!

Great insight. Yes. Moisture is a huge issue for your sneaker. Moisture, humidity, heat...I actually talk about all of that in a video I just recently did about my sneakers crumbling. Check it out if you get a chance. I actually talk about all of that. Its in the description and on my page. Overtime there are certain shoes that will deteriorate faster than others. Ziploc bags help and those gel packs are an absolute game changer that helps as well. But again the number one thing to help preserve sneakers is to wear them. The sunlight is a factor too, as it won't help your shoes age well. The drop fronts are good for people who want to showcase them and still have a level of protection so this is the main reason I did this video. Appreciate your well thought out feedback. No doubt fam. Just remember the XL take up a little more room than the Large. The only reason I went with the XL is so my 1s can stand up. But if I could have the large with my 1s standing up I would because I could fit more large in the room than XL Also just FYI I just saw container store has a BOGO sale on them as of today.

Yeah they making me nervous with that. I seen OnTrac people deliver in they personal cars, not all the time cause they do have company vehicles but just wish they’d stick to UPS FedEx…at least I know my drivers.
