Absolutely sickening. This podcast has just become a window into how someone can blindly rationalize pure evil. To the extent history will remember you, you’ll be a victim of one of the most careless and blatantly genocidal state propaganda efforts in history. Great work Noam
You nailed it! You took the words right out of my mouth. This whole podcast, and the host especially, is an attempt to justify radical zionism and its genocidal behavior among its supporters. A recent Israeli academic just mentioned that the attempt for Israelis and the zionist project to justify and make excuses for their track record of systematic ethnic cleansing, genocide and land theft is about to come to an end in the near future based on all the new data of its supporters. History and the world will not be on Israelis side, and guys like Noam who try to find a way to make excuses regardless of clear-cut proofs of genocide and ethnic cleansing because he thinks it's part of his identity are going to have a disturbing awakening in the future.
**Perpetrator** of one of the most dehumanizing and racist propaganda efforts to whitewash genocide of the 21st century. Noam is doing this intentionally.
This is not the point. Israel doesn't need gaza. Its a small plot of land. But they can't bare the hostile and violent population. The idea of separation can benefit both sides
I can't believe so many people are falling for this act LOL! This is clearly a bit by a comedian showing how absurd it would be if two grown men were to so casually speak about ethnic cleansing. He's just trying to show you the absurdity of it, no WAY Noam would ever have a level-headed discussion on "voluntarily" throwing 2 million people into the desert 🤣
Incredible. You interrupt Dr. Khalidi nonstop and kept pressing him on trivial matters. Whereas you don't push back on this guy "thinking outside the box" about using pressure for Egypt to resolve a problem that Israel caused, which would entail a bunch of other responsibilities for them (it already led to diplomatic issues between them and Israel over contentions that they weren't adequately keeping Gazans from entering Egypt). Egypt wasn't the country that made Gaza unliveable. Maybe Israel should take responsibility for destroying Gaza and let the Gazans return to their homeland instead of violating the sovereignty of anotber country? Or are Israel's concerns the only ones that matter?
@@seamarsh3756 so when Dr. Khalidi was getting testy, for example, when saying he doesn't want to make any conclusions about what happened Al Ahli Hospital until there's an independent investigation, and Noam kept putting his words by claiming "so you believe it's more likely than not that Israel is lying," that's being overly defensive? Or it's overly defensive when he was getting annoyed when Noam kept conflating the indigenous Palestinian Jews with European Jews, while even his cohost kept telling him that Khalidi was making that distinction? Please
23:30 Violent settlers are just victims of rock throwings from Palestinians, so they "harass" Palestinians back by building a house on an "empty" hilltop. This elementary analysis of an ongoing decades long war crime is probably the funniest thing that has come out of the comedy cellar this century.

I got a good idea. Why don’t we relocate the Comedy Cellar from whatever prime real estate it current occupies to some shit box paddock in rural Indiana???This sounds comparable to me, let’s give it some consideration yeah?

I guess someone else already mentioned Madagascar in the 1930s as a future home for an oppressed people. Also, a neat solution for the plight of the Palestinians would be a homeland in Tonapah, Nevada. It was once the largest city in the State but today resembles more of a ghost town.
"The Madagascar Plan was a plan proposed by the Nazi German government to forcibly relocate the Jewish population of Europe to the island of Madagascar. Franz Rademacher, head of the Jewish Department of the German Foreign Office, proposed the idea in June 1940, shortly before the Fall of France. The proposal called for the handing over of control of Madagascar, then a French colony, to Germany as part of the eventual peace terms."

This interview was just disgusting. In this supposed reality where the Palestinians would “accept” losing Northern Gaza and relocate to the Sinai, what would happen to the West Bank? The people there overwhelmingly don’t want to be under Israeli sovereignty which already treats them like human scum. This why people called his ridiculous article an expansion dream because it never answered what happens to the WB or Jerusalem for that matter which is the center-point of the conflict. It’s shocking seeing you give him such cupcake questions like this man isn’t advocating for ethnic cleansing, compared to your other debates this was just disgusting.
he wants that as a permanent solution, he never said in his article that they would stay in the Sinai until Gaza is rebuilt, he even stated in this cupcake interview that he would like to see the Sinai connect with Southern Gaza to become the new Palestinian state. This "solution" completely neglects the 3 + million Palestinians living in the west bank with a couple hundred thousand more in East Jerusalem. If this plan would go through he would 100% want Israel to annex all of Jerusalem officially(they already practically have) and the West Bank because it makes no sense to have two separate unconnected Palestinian states. That is why his plan is just an expansion plan to take the WB and all of Jerusalem disguised as some kind of a "humanitarian" solution. @@hmmmmmmminteresting

It’s amazing how an academic discussion can be co-opted by ideologues. The comments here are illustrative of the indoctrination happening on college campuses. People are incapable of considering ideas without injecting ideology into the discussion. If you’re capable, consider the point he was making: Gaza is toxic. The Palestinians siphoned off too much fresh water, drawing salt water into its aquifers. (Btw, this is why well-digging is so tightly controlled.) The tunnels have produced unstable soil conditions, making it almost impossible to rebuild. (And which also explains why so many buildings collapsed.) Add to that the amount of debris above and below ground and you’ve basically got a huge landfill. Where can the Gazans go while Gaza is recovering ecologically? That is the question he was trying to answer. We already know the surrounding Arab countries will not take them for any duration. They are in fact “unwanted.” The Sinai is bigger than Israel, is home to only 600K people, and is contiguous with Gaza. It is the best solution.

@@davidcooks2379 well I guess if the Jews left Germany they wouldn't have had such a miserable life. They stayed though... So they deserved the Holocaust??
It has always been well known that Israel and the USA would pay hundreds and hundreds of billions of dollars to heap every possibly luxury and quality of life upon the Palestinians if they would either just accept peace where they are or move elsewhere. Their protest isn't just partly about "existing in Palestine" - it's *entirely* about petty land issues. They want Palestine for themselves. They think it is theirs, that the Jews stole it and have no right to it, and that the only agreeable solution is for Palestinians to move back into Israel, take control of the government, and impose the Muslim tax on the Jewish minority. The offer for them to be richly rewarded with more money and land than they can dream of, if they just cease and desist, has always been on the table.
Rational opportunity to provide for the peaceful flourishing of all parties. Critically well thought out.. An innovative proposal that should be considered all relevant parties. International intervention could help induce Egypt to partner in a real solution.
People dont understand that inorder to solve this conflict there needs to be a new set of creative ideas. Personally i think the Palestinians might be happier in sinai. They will have more space and freedom and will be surrounded by other muslims . They will give up land but also recieve a new land in exchange. All parties might win at the end
With all due respect, your comments speculating that Palestinians might be happier, if they were ethnically cleansed out of Gaza through a US sanctioned bombing campaign, come across as very out of touch and horrifically glib. Here is a new set of "creative ideas" based on your musings: "Perhaps the Jewish people would be happier if their sanctuary country of Israel was in Germany, not Palestine, because Germans owe them for the Holocaust, and would welcome them more than the Palestinians in Gaza, who do not owe the Jewish interlopers from Europe, because they were living far away, minding their own business in Palestine, when the Holocaust took place. Netanyahu's family name was the Polish, Mileikowsky; perhaps he would be happier back in Poland, where people look Caucasian/European like him. Jewish Israelies might also be happier in New York, where they are not surrounded by Muslims who are trying to return to the land that Zionist terrorists chased them out of in 1948? Some Jewish people could stay in Israel though, since their families have actually lived there continuously for hundreds of years, and did not come from Europe, mere decades ago. These Jews look Arab, not European Caucasian and have that in common with their Muslim neighbours."//// Israel needs to double down on efforts to establish a two state solution, because expansion through expulsion is genocide and the status quo is Apartheid. In less than 4 months of a catastrophic bombing campaign on the civilians in Gaza, Israel has lost much of the support the world has had for it since World War 2. They are losing the public relations battle in a very dangerous and heart wrenching way.
What if someone glibly suggested that Israeli people would be happier if they were ethnically cleansed out of Palestine and were forced back to regions where they were surrounded by other Caucasians? I hope you rethink your horrific comments.
Whatever makes you safe right? Let them eat cake. At this point youve almost give Gaza no other path of existence there. How convenient for your side. Higher IQ will always prevail, right? Sickening
Israel should annex as much land as it can from the west bank and offer the Palestinians a country on 50 % of the land of the west bank and most of gaza. That is the only real solution to this conflict
