i think Buster had a beautiful face ..his eyes was magnificent , his long face with white pale skin ,..his eyes..he was sexy i don`t know if he knew how beautiful he was...
@@r.c.3614 He was married three times, had two kids and had multiple affairs with Hollywood starlets throughout his career. Know what you're talking about before you post!
They made a great team. I can't decide who's funnier; Fatty in the kitchen or Buster on the dance floor and they took spaghetti to new heights. The dog was fantastic too.
@@jaynesager3049 I find it very interesting that they were so fascinated with all things Egyptian. I believe that this could have been tied to the discovery of the tomb of King Tut.
Amazingly, this film was only rediscovered in 1998. In the early 80s when I took a film class in college focused on the silent comics, this film was considered lost.
This is a spoof of the lost film "Salome" which was also from 1918. The film starred Theda Bara, which Fatty is doing an impression of her. Two minutes of the film survive.
It feels like sections were missing. A few frames here and there. The music was fitting for the type of film, and the era, but it did not fit this film at all. It didn't even flow with the scenes. Thanks for bringing Fatty Arbuckle to the world, though.
Well Mr. Anon, I've been recently experimenting with these silent flicks with my own customized soundtrack so you may do the same. P.S. find any ost and edit it into the film.
What l haven't seen mentioned so far is that this was a lost film, for 84 years. Filmed in 1918 it was believed lost until 2002 when a relatively intact print was found in a closet in Norway. So nitpick about whatever you like, just be happy that this priceless film was found, and brought back to us, like buried treasure.
Well Mendez, I think you'll be proud to hear that I'm pitching a fanfictional reenactment of "The Butcher Boy", "Coney Island", or this film where Farley and Spade take over for the roles of Arbuckle and Keaton.
Wait did that woman actually jump off from that high up😟 I know that’s a stupid question considering they didn’t have special effects but I’m in disbelief
Excellent film, but I just cant help to notice how rough they were with animals. I wonder how many dogs fell 20ft to their death while climbing wooden ladders, while filming?
The dog was Fatty's pet, and starred in this and other Fatty and Keaton films. He has been a beloved dog not only by his owner, but by all of Hollywood
Mabel Normand was addicted to cocaine from a read, and Fatty Arbuckle was at one time addicted to morphine after being given some for some either second or third degree burns he recieved when some stunt didn't go as planned.
Oh no! I get the feeling PETA got "GOATLAND" closed down. Love seeing Keaton so facially expressive in Arbuckle silent shorts. RIP Roscoe & Buster, thanks for all the laughs🤩
I like the dog best 😉 And Arbuckle wasn't half bad, but Buster Keaton, and in another Arbuckle scetch a very young Charly Chaplin as a hapless referee in a boxing match, could dance rings around Arbuckle! I also like Oliver Hardy better. There is a reason why Keaton, Chaplin, Laurel and Hardy are still household names while Arbuckle is mostly remembered for his unfortunate role in Virginia Rappe's tragic death. But still - Arbuckle wasn't just grossly obese, he also had talent and he deserved a better fate.
@@Blueberryyymuffin , l fully agree with you, that Arbuckle Was shunned by the Hollywood producers and the audience for something he didn't do. And at the time of his death he was on the rise again, but he was dead before he was able to change his professional career in a more permanent way. Fate can be really cruel! However, I really think that Buster Keaton, Charly Chaplin, Laurel & Hardy, or Harold Lloyd were way more talented than Fatty Arbuckle.
@@sabineb.5616 I wouldn’t say *way* more talented. Tbh I have only ever seen like 4 silent films in my life, 2 from Harold Lloyd, this one, and a little bit from Charlie Chaplin. I would like to see more, but, I think Arbuckle was ok in this one. I can see potential in him, so I think if I watched more of him and others from this time I would come to a definitive conclusion. But as of right now, I think he is really talented.
