I've heard numerous stories about the gaurds culture of bullying ,particularly the Scots gaurds . I met an ex Gren Gaurdsman who joined up in 1983 .He told me that when 2SG came back from the Falklands a lot of new lads got really (put through it) My old reg 1RGJ also had a very bad problem with bullies . Imagine being this Gaurdsman out on patrol in NI during the troubles ,with the ever-present threat from the IRA and when you get back to the lines ,members of your own multiple are beasting the fxxk out of you . Total shxthouses . I left the Army in 2005 ,I was a PTI and yes I put people through it ..but there is a very big difference between physically challenging PT and punching some poor fcker just because he couldn't keep up on a run. I don't go to reunions because I'd end up in jail ..long memory (very long) Good upload btw .
I'm Ex 3 platoon. Right Flank warrior vehicle company from Oxford Barracks, Munster, Germany BFPO 17, even though I have done a stunt of Op Herrick 7 Afghanistan in 2007, now before I got posted to Germany 🇩🇪 BFPO 17, I can confirm that even though i was at the height of my pt fitness etc, especially when in F company 2SG, was so much drug taking, heavy drinking, sectarianism,and most of all double bouble was rife, I'm also convinced a few Glasgow lad's were gang/ coalition clique related because of either football hooliganism or City Mafia connection. I played the grey man alot, bit they left me alone after a few months, but the bullying still goes on behind the curtains 😉
I joined the British army in 1985. Bullying was part of basic training for myself being white but Anglo Asian. It didn’t take long after fighting the two culprits for it to end almost instantly. Little did they know I’d been a jr boxing champion and in a short time was regimental champion. 15 years trouble free service in regards to bullying after that but I know full well it happened. Beatings and regimental baths just a few.
