Hey brother, check out the Scandal Haruna Ono telecaster from Fender Japan which I think is somewhat the predecessor to this. I think there's something with Japanese girl rockers and white teles
*************AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE THIS VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!! I need to find a Way to Buy this One, I Love the Band and Love this Guitar, never been a Much of a Tele-Guy, but this one may CONVERT Me, lol......Austin_Thank you this VIDEO Made my week...…………...
Hey Austin, I really want to buy some T-Shirts, but I think TeeSpring shirts are total garbage, any way you can switch the company who makes your Merch????? Thanks again
Hey Trogly, since Fender is aiming at making female artists signature guitars, would you like to see maybe a Susan Tedeschi signature guitar since Derek Trucks has a signature SG?
I am a luthier and made an all white similar themed guitar.. also let's not forget Prince's all white cloud guitar. I'm sure that's where she got the inspiration for this one being all white including the fret board, the humbucker in the bridge & single coil at the neck not to mention purple pin striping & faux f hole. Just a guess on my part but my intuition tells me that she is a Prince fan.
Hey Bread, I am also a builder, customize'r and mad modder, though I hesitate to use the Luthier moniker. I just purchased a Dave Rude Flying V. I was never even remotely interested in the Flying V body style. Now I have been a huge Prince Fan since Dirty Mind and Controversy. I converted a good proportion on my high school when 1999 was released and seeing him and The Revolution during the Purple Rain tour, locked me into His Purple Badness for life. Sadly his was cut so short. Anyway, check out the Epi. I am working on an ALL WHITE version and swapping out electronics for a P94T and a Burstbucker with Coil Splitting. The pickups will also be white, plus a Les Trem. I could use a bit of advice. I would pay for your time, of course. I can provide email or phone for text or calls, or Google Hangout, Zoom or Skype. Pick your poison, if you are up for some professional commiserating. Thanks. Oh, I would love to see a pic of your guitar mentioned in your comment. -- Craig
@@craiggallagher7292 hey Craig. As promised I thought I would just get back to you. I know what you mean, I hesitate to use the moniker luthier as well. Maybe I will adopt your definition as it seems better suited towards me. Although I have made guitars completely by hand from scratch And I have sold guitars that I have made so people tell me that makes me a luthier. Whatever. I just enjoy guitars that's all. Anyway here is my email address. shoot me an email and then we can be in contact and you can explain to me what you're trying to do and I will let you know if there's any way I can help at all. Cheers! Rockshri@yahoo
I live in Japan and I have one of these Tele since January 2020. Here’s what I thought It looks very nice and the pickups both sounds great on neck and bridge position. Feel very comfortable when you playing because of the slim neck profile, nice fret job and 09-42 strings In conclusion it’s a pretty good guitar in the same price range.(about 120000yen)
For a Japanese artist signature that thing is TAME and honestly we have had artist signatures of that style (Matt Heaffy Snofall, Deathklok White Flying V, etc)... Trogly, if you want to see crazy, go look up ESP Japan's artist signatures. Their domestic stuff is INSANE.
On that note, I will like to point out one of the craziest ESP signatures being Sugizo's Eclipse S-II, no neck pickup, just a mid and bridge combo. Also killer paint job on the S-II as well.
They get all the cool color combos and mods in Japan and a lot of the MIM Fenders come in a wider variety of fun/funky finishes, but I do think Fender USA is starting to loosen up a bit. I love all their wacky parallel universe models. Regardless, the best part of a Fender is that you can mix and match the components to create anything you can imagine.
@@KarlKarsnark I have a feeling that, with the performer/professional series, they were going for "safe" colours that people would certainly buy, so that fender wouldn't flop. And with the original, you can't take a crazy colour and just throw it on there, obviously due to the specific
Johnny Greenwood used the same configuration on his Telecaster in the mid-90s. The thought of it never appealed to me until I saw the Live at Astoria recording of "Maquiladora"...
Huh, I thought those were from the 90s. All I know is that when I eventually get a Ric, it's not gonna be one of those. The coloured fretboards just don't look right on a high-end instrument like a Ric, in my opinion, you know what I mean?
@@That_One_Guy_In_A_Band My 2013 Ruby 330 has a really streaky Caribbean rosewood fingerboard. My friend bought a Mapleglo around the same time from the same shop & his fingerboard looks really dark & plain. I have never seen coloured fingerboards on Rickenbacker guitars , news to me , we certainly didn't get them in the UK .
@@tomasg920 I mean, it's never ok to generalize, but we could look at statistics about that particular issue and I'm pretty sure they don't struggle as much as, let's say Russian women. But hey! You're the one who took it the bad way, I admite it, I was kinda fishing for someone to take it that way. But I never said this with some negative connotations, did I?
Hey Austin!!!.....I just got this Guitar yesterday from Japan....Wow, I love the way it looks and I really love the way it plays...Mine weighs just slightly over 7 pounds....I never would have known about this Guitar had it not been thru your review...Love this Guitar!!!..THX!
Fender Japan really nice gems! The custom shop is always “look at this fiesta red strat with rosewood board, it has a chip in the fretboard so it costs $6000”
IMO the neck pup on a Tele is one of the best rhythm sounds next to a Les Pauls neck pup.I love to soak them in fuzz & play stoner-rock.A lot of people underestimate a Tele's neck pup sound. It's used on TONS of classic stuff & most people don't even realise it(Led Zeppelin-One for example)
Im a big Silent Siren fan and recently grabbed one of these after your video confirmed i needed one in my life. Getting it out of japan was a nightmare but it landed in the UK no problem and I adore it.
I've been listening to a lot of music from Japan and Korea, the musicianship from the bands when you see the live performances is usually insane. I saw Bandmaid at the Neptune in Seattle in 2022 and it was pretty much - wow, wow, wow, for every song.
Thank you for demonstrating the guitar's sound by playing clean simple chord progressions. I'll never understand videos that are supposed to showcase a guitar and its tones that have guys playing through cranked up amps and/or effects, showing the viewer what a great guitar player the reviewer is. This is how to demonstrate a guitar. Well done.
I mean...for a lot of us, that's exactly how we'll be playing the guitar - playing something technically complex, very quickly, through a high-gain amplifier with some degree of reverb. While it's nice to hear what a guitar sounds like played simply on an unspecified amplifier/microphone combination, it provides me with as little useful information as those other videos do to you. This isn't somehow more the 'real' sound of the guitar than technical metal playing; 99.999% of the sound you'll get in any guitar recording comes down to the amp, the cab, the microphone, and microphone placement. At least in most of those videos someone that knows amps / sound engineering well enough can at least try to control for the most important variables.
@@iusethisnameformygoogleacc1013 That's not true. There are more genres than just rock and metal that are played on guitar. You have jazz and R&B guitar players like me who want to hear it clean and not put through filters and effects too, so we can hear what the pickup's tones are like clean.
To Cancel Out John Lennon's Paint it Black Ritual, I Painted My Mahogany Telecaster Thinline w/Maple Fretboard Almond White. Now I See This. It Looks So Perfect. Also Painted My Mic Stands Silver.
Yes it’s a design feature the shadow of the bottom of the pick guard picks up the line - the pinstrip through the horn would be too heavy too boxed in a look. A very cool design.
That middle position sounds like there's an octave on that bad boy, there's so much depth difference. That is a beautiful guitar with wonderful tonal qualities.
I absolutely love the sound of that guitar, all pickup settings. I discovered your channel a couple months ago and have literally been binge watching your videos night and day as I'm one of the ones who lost my job until this pandemic is over. I've been thinking about doing something like this, but with cymbals and drums or DMX lighting. I love what you do bro. You're a true inspiration to how this should be done and have given me a million ideas as to how I'd get into this but with drums and cymbals. Thank you for the excellent content :)
Well the pups match the finish - bright! lol Nice looking guitar but the fake F hole looks kind of silly IMO what's the purpose in drawing a fake F hole? If they would have shaded it in to make it look more real I would get it but just doing an outline seems like a wast of time and material, they should have spent that on finishing the outline around the entire body lol.
It's a japanese guitar for a japanese musician, it kinda defeats "what's the purpose" question. Haven't you seen ESP/Edwards signature guitars for domestic market? There's some crazy stuff. It's not meant to appeal you since it's not meant to even been sold to you
I just want to say you have the perfect intro. Nice catchy riff, not a second too long. Its fun to edit longer intros and tv sure did get us used to those but that doesnt work well here on youtube and i always find myself skipping other peoples intros.
Pedantic comment: nothing illegal about importing that guitar. Realistically a dealer with an agreement with Fender to not sell it outside Japan would be in breach of the terms of the agreement, and could have their agreement cancelled or whatever other remedies are laid out in the contract. No way for an individual to get in any trouble importing or exporting one (as long as the customs paperwork is correct, as with anything).
I have a 2018 MIJ Jazzmaster (live in Japan). It’s shielded, CTS pots and finished very nicely, you read about needing to replace all the electronics but it’s not the case. The stock pick ups are not good in my opinion as a novice, that part is accurate. I have a gold foil on neck and wide range humbucker in bridge, kind of similar set up but the value between the two is much greater than this (around 5 and 11). The middle position is awesome, something about blending humbucker bridge with single coil neck really works. Don’t hesitate to pick up recent MIJ stuff, it’s a real good base to work from. They are sold under Tokai brand in some countries, I believe Tokai is the current contract holder for MIJ Fender.
It's not out yet, gets released end of June. They released 30 outside of Japan to dealers. I bought 1 of the 3 allocated for the UK! £1900 in UK which is crazy expensive for a MIJ, but hyper limited so worth it IMO.
@@thomasharman1435 You're right - isn't until end of June. Mind you - that price seems pretty comparable to the Japanese price. We would have to shell out 250,000 yen here. But wow - what a cool looking Tele. :)
He actually has an all white Tele …..with his pickup and switching config....with red accents and I believe a black pickguard (I could be wrong about that part)…..full white neck and fingerboard....that he calls the "Ghost".
Neat. Fender is on fire lately. I think it will actually look better as it becomes naturally reliced and worn in over time, kind of like a great pair of jeans.
Hey Trogly you should check the new Neon Genesis Evangelion telecaster. It’s also a Japanese exclusive , and it’s set to launch on July of this year because of the new movie. It would be amazing if you could feature it on the channel.
That one’s gonna be a headache trying to get. Evangelion fans are the type to buy those out instantly lol. That being said it would be really cool to see it on here!
Why are there basically no T-Style guitars in general with that pickup combo? Its very common in super strats and for me having the humbucker in the bridge and a single coil in the neck makes a lot more sense than vice versa.
Very nice Trogly! Great info and beautiful Tele, with fa k e 'f' hole pinstripe outline! I too would've liked to have seen the pinstripe carried around he guitar. Or better yet, have the striping carry all the way up the sides of the neck and meet at the headstock....hmmmm, just a thought. 😉 Great video Trog, thank you! Pam💜
I was watching videos introduce the Fender Deluxe Thinline Telecaster (MIM) one with 3 Noiseless Pickups, the other on with 2 Noiseless Pickups, then all of a sudden your video came up; moreover, the design and color on the Silent Siren are what I prefer. It looks gorgeous!!
Hey Austin yay I Finally got to see it it's beautiful it reminds me of Matt heafys Les Paul I surprise u got that over here lol and in my opinion I think fender should make a special line where they make all right guitars like this telecaster well that's all see ya next video.
Ab.so.lute.ly love that you covered this. Silent Siren is great and we appreciate that you did some research on them too 🤗 well done, sir. I’m not over the hills on Sumire’s Sig Tele (Haruna from Scandal’s is far superior) but it’s nice coverage nonetheless. I might pick one of these up if I don’t get an Asuka tele
That ending sentiment is exactly how I feel with so many region exclusive guitars. Yea, that's where your market for it is, but surely it wouldn't hurt to throw like 200 our way. Examples of this include the Epiphone Shinichi Ubukata 335 and the Fender Evangelion Asuka Tele, among others.
That is such a stealth guitar.I love the all white and like you said the logo adds a lot visually.I've never owned a Telecaster, actually I don't like them but after a couple years I'd like to see if some come to the U.S I would seriously consider buying this.Great video nice to see different guitars.
The modern Rangemaster (or Shaw as you called it) is built more like a Gibson humbucker with the bar magnet under the coils. The 70s Rangemasters had magnet screw pole pieces made out of a special alloy that was a major expense to use... thus the shortcut to bar magnets now. You can buy original style Rangemasters made by boutique pickup makers with the magnet screws, but it will cost you (not as much as an original Fender one though.)
i used to have my sg loaded like this a couple years ago, but sg wiring. loved it, i was sick of playing in a band doing only a loud bridge pickup. bleeding that neck single coil was such a nice vibe
Out of all guitars I have heard you demo this Tele is a real tone machine what do you guy's think? You have demonstrated the most expensive to the most cheapest ..This Tele is something special about it
I think the intent with the pinstripe was to have the shape of the guard mimic the continuance of the striping. I think it looks good that way. The first sample of the middle position reminded me of the tone Lincoln Brewster gets from his Strat neck pup. Ran across this guitar for the first time the other day. It really is a unique looking guitar.
Finally a telecaster comes with Humbucker at the bridge, single coil at the neck. MIM or USA made fender need to produce some models with this design. It will be great to come with locking tuners🎸🎸
alwaysopen abalone is a completely different material from a different animal entirely, not to mention how annoying it is to work with. Mother of Pearl is a consistent white with shades of pink and blue depending on how the light hits it.
@@HalfBit360 What is mother of pearl? Mother of pearl, which is also referred to as nacre, is the iridescent inside layer that can be found inside the shell of many mollusks. It forms the shell lining of these mollusks. Both abalones and pearl oysters produce mother of pearl which is in turn, used for the making of jewellery, musical instruments and are sometimes embedded in to furniture. Mother of pearl is created with a combination of plates of aragonite and another silky substance secreted by the mollusk which in turn produces a strong, flexible material. this special layer is produced by the mollusk for its protection from outer irritations such as sand and bits of shell which can wound the mollusk as well as bacterial infections.
