Well as far as I know, its the brother that knows of their sister more than their parents can know their own daughter. That is, until the sister gets married and the husband will practically know all about the sister cause they live together.

Her parents absolutely not realizing their young teen daughter was missing, and wouldn’t have for who knows how long if it wasn’t for the truck, is exactly why Missy ran away. Even back then, it wasn’t a good look at all to be in this situation with your child.

You should get your hair colored in black instead I don’t want the hair that is too much and the black color will look like the other way but it’s fine because the black will make up the other side but it’s a really pretty and the gray and black color doesn’t match the color of it because you can just go straight into my skin if it’s too hard I think you could use that for like two days a little longer to make a color change the hair and maybe some kind like you have like some highlights like highlights

This story arc points out that Missy was virtually ignored in favor of Sheldon. This, not finding out that she's gone until everyone else is accounted for, and the truck is gone is very neglectful. I had three kids, myself, and I always knew where all three were at all times. I get that Georgie just had a kid and Sheldon is smart, but they've kind of left Missy to her own devices, ignored her. What else did they expect?

They expected her to behave and not to steal trucks, not to run away, not to do what she wanted to do after they told her no. She still living under her parents roof. One of the main problems of our country is the fact that nobody is held accountable for their own behavior and giving her a way out, an excuse, a justification only does her harm because she thinks she can get away with it and that is exactly what led her into the life she had in The Big Bang Theory

@@coledibiase5971 Just because she had a roof over her head doesn't mean her family didn't neglect her, and besides let's not forget, they literally forgot to pick her up after school, and they've practically done similar things like that her entire life. Just because it was a tough time for everyone, doesn't give them the right to do that to her ever. A lot of tough moments happened with my family, but there was never a time where they forgot about me or my brother, you don't do that to your child, they are still your priority, and they failed her, big time. I hate when people make that argument "you have clothes on your back, you have a roof over your head, you get three meals a day", so? That doesn't defend your actions in the end. What so you have a pass on ignoring your child because your doing the bare minimum? get the hell out of here with that!

That doesn't mean anything, you could just be doing these things so you don't go to jail for child abuse, and then you have the nerve to bring it up like that and not genuinely, but just to put it over our heads and telling us we're ungrateful and we don't know how good we have it. Sis is just asking for love and attention, and it's not something she should have to earn, it should be a given. The fact that she is clearly acting out because of the lack of attention they give her, and she has tried to communicate that with them, but they are not actually listening to her, and they're wandering why she won't stop the behavior, stop the bullshit on your end, and it will stop on hers. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

I love how missy stands up for herself and creates a new life, because she can finally get the attention she craves! Although, it is not the best choice, maybe she will be noticed and cherished as a vital part of the family. They will realize how good she is when she is away.

If they started to treat her better, it would fix the underlying issue. Just punishing for the truck stealing only fixes the surface level problem, leading to more problems in the future.
