A mini documentary on the decline of the Cornwall canal, and possible solutions in terms of revitalization. Admitted into the 2011 Aultsville Theatre Winter FilmFest.
I did not realise until a recent visit to Cornwall that only about a third of the original canal survives with a long stretch of it under water as a result of the hydro power dam. The public information centre at the dam had most interesting information about the building of the seaway and the power station and the changes that this brought to the river and valley. I hope what remains of the Cornwall Canal survives as it is of historical interest.
It's sad but unfortunately Cornwall has for years slowly erased any of it's great history whereas smaller communities all around seem to embrace their local history and see as a positive. Too bad for Cornwall :(
Sad To Say its past the point of saving.....City of Cornwall are to slow and Cheap to fix anything until its to late ....They Should of Restored it YEARS AGO.....But wait till its so bad they will just say ehhhh screw it fill it in......And build CONDOS
