Whether we like it or not, this lady is a devout Christian. As far as she is concerned, at this Service she gave her word to God to serve her nation and that's it ..... she will never abdicate as long as she is mentally capable. Quite frankly, in this day and age, it's wonderful to have someone who stands by their word. This might be laughable to many, but it shows a lot more principle and sacrifice than many Presidents. So many presidents have been extremely wealthy, admittedly as is she, but without one ounce of her integrity. If it ain't broke don't fix it. I've lost count over the years of the number of "foreigners" who have envied me our Queen, and I am not an unquestioning monarchist.
I cannot agree with you more. So many times people have said "Why don't we scrap this monarchy and have a republic" and so many times have I thought about how horrible that would be. God Save the Queen!
