I couldn’t figure out why my petunias were getting so laggy when I was deadheading faithfully. Found this video and realized I was simply pulling the dead flower out and leaving the seed pod. Thank you so much for this you have a new fan forever!!!! 💕
Thank you so much!! Please see my video on Supertunias. With Proven Winners Supertunias, you don’t have to deadhead at all. The petals fall off themselves! If you have not Subscribed, please do and Click on the bell for future notifications.
Thank you for posting a video that not only describes what to do regarding dead heading in an easy, simple fashion- but also shows the process. I can’t tell you how many videos I came across before your channel that just don’t capture it the way you do. I’ll be subscribing because I need all the help I can get. I literally just deadheaded my hanging basket the wrong way - and then watched this video. That’s my luck. But now I know how to do it properly! 🤣💗🌺🌿
Thanks for sharing this video. I have some that aren’t blooming, and I thought your closeup shot of how exactly to deadhead was very helpful. Hopefully mine will rebloom. Again, thanks so much.
I'm new to gardening and just got myself some petunias and found your video very helpful so I can make sure they blossom happily throughout the season! Thank you, Ne-Ne. :)
Your welcome!!! Please see my video on Supertunias. With Proven Winners Supertunias the petals just fall off themselves. No need for deadheading and I will not go back to regular petunias. If you have not subscribed, please do and Click the bell for future notifications.
@@ne-neshomeandgarden I watched your supertunias video. They seem awesome! I can't find them locally, though. I guess I could try to buy some seeds online, but I've never grown from seed before. Might be a project for next growing season! I do want to say, though, that since watching your deadheading video a month ago, my regular petunias are looking absolutely *fabulous*! Your tips really helped make them blossom wonderfully; they look beautiful. :)

Hi Ne-Ne! I just subscribed! Thank you for your help, I just planted some petunias for the first time this summer. It rained like 4 days in a row and I had a bunch of dead flowers. I too was removing the dead flowers wrong. I just gave my flowers a good trim after watching your video. Thank you for teaching me! ☺️
I just found your channel and I totally love it !!! I love that you actually teach (you made sure to call the camera man to zoom in,lol), and give us details we won't normally find on the internet. Plus your plants and garden are soooo beautiful! Your channel will do well I'm sure! I've subscribed!

This is a very good video! She is very informative and helpful and speaks in a manner so that you can understand what she means. I am an older lady that has always love flowers too, but never knew much about how to take care of them. I am learning now! Thank you for the help!☺️
I enjoyed this so much! I, too, am a former floral designer & I’m finally taking the time to learn how to pinch these back so they aren’t so leggy. Thanks and great job on your video.
3:52 OMG she's just throwing the crap over the EDGE...LOL...I do that tooo, throw it all back to nature. Thanks for the great video. Love this and learning. I love petunias too.
You are so calming your voice and information is so clear and very understandable it is just really a breath of fresh air you make me feel I can do it really enjoyable thank you again
This is so helpful! I honestly never thought about this, even though I have cut the flowers off basil and other herbs for years, so my plant didn't think its life-cycle was over and died after producing seed.
Thank you so much for the great video! I am taking care of my mother’s outside plants and couldn’t figure out why her petunias weren’t as pretty as they have been. I have just been pulling off the dead blooms… Your video and explanation is so clear, I’m so excited to see new results from proper deadheading!!!!
Perfect video. No cutie music, all business. She'd point out the, new, fresh Budd as well as the dead one. Like she said, this take courage! Thanks for this!
Thank you so much for showing the correct way to deadhead petunias. I have baskets of them every year and spend lots of time grooming them so I can enjoy them longer :) 😻😻
Ugh I’ve been dead-heading wrong this whole time 😢 I’ll be going out and dead-heading my 8 plants the correct way. Gonna take me all day LOL. Great tutorial! Thank you for sharing! ❤
@@ne-neshomeandgarden oh girl, I did already, and followed your insta, and shared this one and your dead head geranium vid with my sis-in-law! I love how thourough you are with you explanations! Looking forward to your content!
Thank you for this video I've been doing it wrong I was just deadheading by pulling the dead flower out. I like the way you explain about the plant and why it's done this way. I subscribed to your channel.
Thank you! I was concerned if I was doing this correctly! I have been leaving the seeds on! Now taking off! Thank you bunches! I’m in NC also! Good info! Thank you!
Great video, I appreciated the close up and showing the difference between the seed pods and the new blooms. I think I have been taking off the seed pods on some and missing them on others with my petunias and I didn't know that there can be a lot of seed pods without a dying flower on them. It makes a lot of sense that this keeps your petunias alive and thriving because on many different plants including fruits and veg like cucumbers if the seeds or fruit fall off onto the ground the plant dies because it thinks it has served its purpose, which is to spread its seed and make new plants.
I have had mine for 2 summers now I live in Arizona but if you keep dead heading and also I found out that they love banana water ! If you want little more vibrant in color baking soda in the water when you water thank you for the correct way to dead head I appreciate it
Thank you for starting your blog. I like you love flowers 💐 too but this is my first year of truly educating myself on taking care of my plants and learning my planting zone! It’s great to know I can cut blooms and they will come back. By the way my best childhood friend name was Ne Ne.
Your so welcome Tara! I started it for people like us that are just getting started or know a little something about gardening and want to share with other people. I was so scared when I first started deadheading flowers but others won’t grow if you don’t do it. Thank you so much for watching and if you like my channel please Subscribe and click on the bell for future notifications.
I really appreciated your running commentary on what you were doing while you were doing it. It helped me a WHOLE lot. I moved into a co-op last summer so this has been the first year of container gardening on my deck. I bought a couple HUGE beautiful hanging pots of petunias for a lucky bargain price ($25 each) just before the official growing season started in MN (May 15). I'd been putting off deadheading them until today because I'm a guy and I'm lazy and didn't want to do it wrong. I took a LOT of seed pods out and will give it another going over next Sunday. Hope I didn't wait too late to keep the plant blooming...

@@ne-neshomeandgarden I did both earlier. Glad to hear I didn't wreck them, lol. Now that I've done it once it doesn't seem like a big job. I just want to get the same variety next year as I got this year. So pretty. Mix of deep violet and deep wine colors with a sprinkling of white spots on every bloom.
Thanks God I found our video,it's really a great help just like me who just a starter of petunia🥰🥰🥰🥰hope to have more videos to watch from you...new subs here..from Philippines

Thank you for letting us know to deadhead the old seedlings because I would have removed the seedlings of the dead flowers and forgot about the seedlings that I didn't remove previously!
Wowww. Never knew about seed pods on the petunias! I wound only pull my dead flower so thank you for this. I do have a thing about cutting off the flowers though 😩 I know it’s good for the plant but ughh…I’ll get through it🤣
@@ne-neshomeandgarden another thing is, I really can’t tell the difference between when a new bud is coming or if it’s gone to seed. I bet I’ve been pulling new buds!🤦🏾
Great vid! I wen after my mothers day baskets with a scissor whack whack. real short, then folloed up every other day ith bloom fertilizer very weak solution. OMG!!! Crazy flowering!!!!
I love your “whack whack whack”! 😂😂 So many of us are afraid to do that. It’s what it needs to generate more growth! 👏👏 to you!!! If you enjoy my videos, PLEASE LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE.
