So, when opening the door and entering the room, you do not turn around and make any such manoeuvre to change hands, you change your hands behind your back always facing the people in the room.

it just occurred to me that the process isn't symmetric between either side of the door, the "room" gets more face time, which i guess makes sense if people tend to be in rooms and mere hallways tend to be on the other side. but if there are two rooms..does one have to make a guess as to which room has the more important people? :-D if the queen was waiting for you in the hallway would you have alter your passage so that you're facing the queen with the maximum amount of time? does anyone leave her in hallways... :-)
