Can you tell me more about Kalamazoo and especially about the Kalamazoo promise? Is it still a thing? I am thinking about relocating for my kids education later on. Meaning I would move for opportunity. Don't like Ann Arbor. Too busy and farther out from South Haven and Lake Michigan Thank you. Am I the only one that likes Michigan weather?! 😅

Don't forget Aldi, Costco, Target and Busch's, they're both great and we have a couple of all of them. We also have Arbor Farms, the Produce Station, Sparrow Market and People's Food Co-Op. imo, all but aldi, costco and target are better than Whole Foods. Ann Arbor has a lot of variety in cuisine, like A LOT. And some nationally known American Classics, like Blimpy Burger and The Fleetwood. We also have Zingermans and the Gandy Dancer, blue nile, great korean and japanese places, persian and arab, indian, etc. I get that the artsy fartsy stuff is personalized, but imo that countertop is great. Love the look of that kitchen.
Are people from Michigan buying up homes for 1 million plus? Or are these investors / out of state buyers? Moved from Michigan to California in 2006 and hated it and harbored desire to return always. But am getting sticker shock hearing the prices of homes in AnnArbor that seemed to have doubled in last 5 years. Moving out of Michigan and selling our home around the housing bust time period we lost a ton of money, our house was purchased during the real estate bubble of 2000. Is the current environment a similar bubble? I do hear lot of California people wanting to buy property in midwest states as a safety net towards climate change. Is this what is driving up prices? For place with limited job market where are these million dollar buyers coming from?
