During the Harlem Renaissance, the happening place to be was the Cotton Club, located in the heart of Harlem... unless you were black. This is my final Spotlight presentation for ENGL 345.
@jrcastleman Thank you very much. I've been wanting to dig into Hughes for a long time, I will check the other names you have listed too. And of course, thank you for uploading this video :)
@bigshirtblue He insisted on using as much information as possible from my paper in spite of me insisting that I was going to keep the length no longer than the song in the background. After 8 audio cuts, I told him to just leave it alone, and I'd pick the best one. :-)
@hoptirinay It's been a minute, so I don't really remember. It's been almost a year since I took the Black American Writers class lol. I do remember it was something by Duke Ellington, though. I thought I had it on the computer still and looked all night for it, but I must've given it to my daughter.
@jrcastleman Well, I didn't mean to put you through so much trouble, thank you. At least now I know its by Mr Ellington ;) Black American Writers is a cool subject to take indeed. Can you recommend any good reads on this particular era? This would be easier for you I suppose:)
