Portnoy returns and makes a New DVD with tcot as outro of the night with orchestra behind them, and in a big stage with dancers and ballets complimenting the song .. a dream.
@@Marifet124 Just a question: In your opinion is the "new" drummer (Mike Mangini) objectively worse than portnoy (worse enough to warrant a dislike at least), or is it just different sounds.
Even with all of the amazing stuff that he has played throughout his career, I feel that this song has Jordan's finest keyboard work. It's such a shame that it's so buried in the mix because this is truly breathtaking.
Joe Romano That's why I'm glad they released the instrument stems as a bonus. I wish they'd do it for every album! If you're not happy with the mix on the album you can mix it to your heart's content.
zabunia It was nice having the tracks. I've always disliked the mixing that Dream Theater does - especially them always drowning out John Myung's bass.
amazing how every instrument by itself are so powerfull on expression and sound that drags you INTO the vibe of the song by themselves...and when all combined they sound like the epic masterpiece the song is.
Ohh rubbish you kids! Music was never a thing of how fast you play with circus sounds. I think who ever likes Moore better, realizes that technically Jordan is untouchable, it was always about the musical maturity. Imagine how young Kevin was ( and other guys too ) when they did Images and Words and how mature the song writing in it is.
bald fucking smurf more like. he was part of the conspiracy to oust portnoy, the face of the band, so he can fuck off just as any other assclown in fake theater, including mangina
[Verse 1] Several years ago In a foreign town Far away from home I met the Count of Tuscany A young eccentric man Bred from royal blood Took me for a ride Across the open countryside Get into my car Let's go for a drive Along the way I'll be your guide Just step inside Maybe you recall A cannibal curator A character inspired by my brother's life Winding through the hills The city far behind On and on we drove Down narrow streets and dusty roads At last we came upon A picturesque estate On sprawling emerald fields An ancient world of times gone by [Pre-Chorus] Let me introduce My brother A bearded gentleman Historian Sucking on his pipe Distinguished accent Making me uptight No accident [Chorus] I want to stay alive Everything about this place Just doesn't feel right I I don't want to die Suddenly I'm frightened for my life I want to say goodbye This could be the last time You see me alive I I may not survive Knew it from the moment we arrived [Verse 2] Would you like to see Our secret holy place? I come here late at night To pray to him by candle light Then peering through the glass I saw with disbelief Still dressed in royal clothes The saint behind the altar History recalls During times of war Legend has been traced Back inside these castle walls Where soldiers came to hide In barrels filled with wine Never to escape These tombs of oak are where they died [Pre-Chorus] Down the cellar stairs I disappear Like the English heir The end is near Come and have a taste A rare vintage All the finest wines Improve with age [Chorus] I want to stay alive Everything about this place Just doesn't feel right I I don't want to die Suddenly I'm frightened for my life I want to say goodbye This could be the last time You see me alive I I may not survive Knew it from the moment we arrived [Instrumental Break] [Verse 3] Could this be the end? Is this the way I die? Sitting here alone No one by my side I don't understand I don't feel that I deserve this What did I do wrong? I just don't understand Give me one more chance Let me please explain It's all been circumstance I'll tell you once again You took me for a ride Promising a vast adventure Next thing that I know I'm frightened for my life Now wait a minute man That's not how it is You must be confused That isn't who I am Please don't be afraid I would never try to hurt you This is how we live Strange although it seems Please try to forgive The chapel and the saint The soldiers and the wine The fables and the tales All handed down through time Of course you're free to go Go and tell the world my story Tell about my brother Tell them about me The Count of Tuscany
@@djorlando57 ahh man thanks for bringing me here again. This song was everything to me when I discovered it at 17 years old. Now i'm 23 and I'm still in love with it and with Rudess' output on it. Ahh, so many good memories come to me with these sounds.
I don't know, but I think it's quite hard to reproduce that on the iphon or ipad, so you need to have a full keyboard, a good synth and a bit of time to rebuild that sound! usually he makes his sound on the keyboard by using more sound layers, obtaining cool effects like that one
yup! to reproduce that sound I just split the keyboard into two channels, so that you can play the two parts which are mostly at the same height! then I think it's just all about the player's taste to reproduce the sound with what you have in your keyboard or in your software...
There is a video, jordan posted it himself, it shows his keyboard screen sometime in the video, maybe it will help on producing the sound, or whatever. Its called Tuscany practice continued and is posted my JCRUDESS
Oh, my God!!! I love this song and definitely LOVED!!! this keyboards only version! Does anyone know where can I get the BCASL producers edition? If possible? Man this makes me so proud to be a musician and even prouder to be a keyboardist! Thanks for uploading this!
Yeah I know. He layers so many sounds in one, he's a fucking genius. And now that I listen to this again you can almost hear a Tabla sounding drum in the background if you listen closely.
Man... you're right. I've started learning to play this bit I'm so bad that I had to listen to it quite a few times, even slowing it down. Still, I could not hear the drum but now as you pointed it out it is quite clearly there! Magic! :)
Neither can I! :D That's why I tend to stick with his work with DT/LTE. When he plays the acoustic piano I get lost in seconds. I'd probably need a few years of classical music training just to enjoy it properly. :)
now I have not the entire cd with me since I left it at my house and I study and live in another city, but when I get to go back I will take it and try uploading it! dunno how much it willa take though
I’d have to say when u take out all the instruments u really appreciate his work and u forget about the ex keyboardists! He is melodic which I never really appreciated
