Ua Huka is an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, part of the Marquesas islands, French Polynesia.
Teikehee owns and oversees the largest herd of wild horses on the island. Although the horses live in perfect freedom, their development must be closely monitored.
Teikehee has two sons whom he is training to become true Ua Huka cowboys. Takaï is 18 and is already a man: he owns a few horses of his own. Hané is still a boy and he is just learning to train his first stallion. Riding horses and being a cowboy is in his blood and will soon be second nature.
