Maye dismissed this by saying "you're conflating the issue," but, since we're looking with hindsight, the issues are already conflated. There may not have been a Tartaria, but to Nicko's point, the world was a LOT more collaborative/interconnected than we are led to believe. As much as they hype of the library of Alexandria there were plenty of other hubs for sharing culture, information, and resources (Timbuktu, "holy" Toledo, Khemet, etc). Many of these hubs and shared works were destroyed because of religious and political differences and some were lost to natural disasters. The world became more individualistic because of greed; one group decided they wanted ownership over all of the knowledge and resources

If Maya ain’t act like such a know it all she’d get more sympathy from people. Conspiracy’s get proven true every other decade, not being open to new ideas and concepts at all is a character flaw that needs to be addressed by more than just Mya. Example: believing in a globe is of the same value as believing in flat earth since 99.9% of people will never be able to verify either and the ones that can are under a pact of silence. It’s the equivalent of having a favorite football team and sticking with them win or lose, admirable yet overly biased and in reality very much pointless.
