This song was specially written for the Vampire: The Masquerade soundtrack, "Music from the Succubus Club", as a theme song for the Ravnos clan, and it's how I learned about the Cruxshadows!
Got to see this song live - Rachael's skill with the electric violinist was breathtaking. The band continued to evolve in interesting ways, but Crüxshadows was never the same after she left.
A bit late to the party, but I remember seeing these folks live, as well, WAAAAAAY back in the day. I think they were opening for... Shit, I think it was Front Line Assembly...? It was maybe 1999 or 2000. Somewhere around there.

Wow I remeber hearing this song back in school around 02 and never knew the band or their name and just now the song poped in my head. I can't believe I found it
It's a well composed song, with catchy lyrics. I looked up the lyrics and found that it was about vampires and preying on their victims through deception.
I have met both Rogue and Rachael at a gig they did in SF a few years ago...Rachael was a little shy but very nice and Rogue is actually kinda soft spoken when he's not performing. Both were great to talk to and to meet and I was very honored to have done so.
Man... they made this like 10 years ago... I remeber we used to joke that the story was about how Rouge had a video tape out from Blockbuster too long and he was trying to get Rachel to sneak back in for him. God I miss Chris Scott and Rachel... none of them are in the band anymore.
finaly saw these guys live yesterday night best moment of the year for me and ind rogeu is a nice guy you can just tell how he talks to the fans on and of the stage as far as i noticed from saying thanks for the show and my buddy asking autographs for the cd
Forget Pop, The Cruxshadows, Switchblade Symphony, The Cure, Type O Negative, Siouxsie and the Banshees and everything in between is where the true art lies. I'm huge GMR( Goth Metal Rock) fan but I love the painful lyrics and haunting vocals that cause Goth bands to be greatly renowned.
Saw them in a small Club in Leverkusen, Germany called Shadow a long time ago. Maybe 150 people there and the Band gave us a great show. And after all These years it's still fantastic music.
This song was on an album for the Succubus Club, a V:tM soundtrack of sorts. I've always assumed the video had a lot more to do with the girl being a vampire.
@@gomezmunoz584 Same! I even got to see them perform in person once, and it was an amazing experience. Rogue pulled several audience members onto the stage to dance at the end, including me. The band also signed the CD I bought afterwards, and they were all so nice and down to earth. Listening to that whole VtM album was worth it just to discover the one band 😁🎶
Filmed in Tallahassee FL. 👍 They played here last night, in the same building this video was shot in. It's a different club now.......but it was still great to see then at "home". Rouge used to DJ there. That's how he got permission to film this there. 😆 Nice blast from the past!
I got into this band after reading a SF book in which they were mentioned ( something about the main character liked to crank their song citadel just before kicking major tushie). That was only 3 years ago and I have been a fan ever since, The lyrics and sound get under my skin and really can amp me up. And this from someone who grew up with Depressed Mode and the rest of the British New wave invasion. Worth checking out if you are of fan of euro style high energy synth rock.

I saw them play for the first time at DragonCon the other day and they were absolutely amazing. They put on a fantastic show. I can't wait to see them again.
I remember hanging out with Rachel at Goth Night at Brothers when I first met her back in 1998. She told me she played violin in a band. I said what was the music like? Right then Rogue, who was DJ’ing, put this song on and she pointed at the speakers and said this. lol.
Very good song... I first heard it and saw the video on The Succubus Club CD. It was a vampire themed CD from the White Wolf Game System Vampires. I can see the little girl out hunting. The deception is about the Masquerade the vampires do, hiding in plain sight.
So many great videos from this area yet tragically poor quality since most of the copies available on the internet were originally converted to digital format directly from VHS tapes. I'd love to see a new movement started of recovering the original master tapes of these videos and making them available for public viewing on the internet in digital format. Vevo was able to do it with old music videos of The Cure, so why not lesser known bands too?
Nicholas Markovich it's easy to record vhs tapes but it's all about the quality of the reel. This reel was probably worn out and that's why you see the lines and noise.
Actually, with this particular video, the _most_ noise is coming from a low quality mpeg1 encoding from way back when, I presume. 352x240, very low bitrate, bad quantization. The "lines" and wavyness you see in horizontal motion shots: this is a product of decimating the height of an interlaced video without properly frame dropping as well.. That said, a reasonably good VHS tape and a high quality (potentially SVHS) playout deck, going into a high quality digitization source, will look a lot better than this regardless of being "old VHS".
cruxshadows are amazing live. after i saw them live they became my favorite band. Rouge danced on the bar. an during the interlude in this song dance with same guy in the crowd. it was a rlly cool thing. i can't wait to see them again.
***** Yeah, one of my earliest VTM games was set in the Succubus Club. My players got to hang out with my old VTM pc, Harold Andelmere too (turned him into an NPC after I retired playing the character)

rogue has such a versatile voice....you hear some guys that can only sing in one range and sound really good. his voice is so versatile that he sounds good in all of them

I saw these cats ages ago in DC. Great performers, honestly, even though I don't tend to listen to this style of music that often. Definitely memorable. In a good way.
All these years gone by... Rogue looks so YOUNG in this video which was almost ten years ago. The newest band mates that are in place could never top Rachel playing her violin, but we shall see. Yes, yes, we shall see you at Dragoncon in Atlanta, GA Laborday weekend. Hope the newbies are practicing.
I Totally agree with you I have met him several times and he is the nicest and sweetest guy the whole band is the people who hate this band do not know what they are missing thier music speaks to so many people.
i totally LOVE this band...saw them in concert in georgia back in 2005...was the first time i had heard of them and fell in love instantly! keep it coming!
