I’ve been thinking about Dolores a lot lately. I discovered The Cranberries when I was about 10 years old and I struggled with depression for many, many years. Dolores was one of the very first voices I fell in love with, and I wasn’t even fluent in English back then, so understanding the lyrics while being in the deep end was really powerful. I think she left a beautiful and timeless legacy. I cried so much when she passed, because in a way, I understand the pain she endured for most of her life. I wish I could tell her that she has inspired people to live another day, and I’m one of those people. I’m eternally grateful to her for the beauty that she brought to this world. Rest in power, queen. Love you forever.
Me and my best mate used to listen to this album over and over enroute to our snowboarding adventures throughout Scotland and Europe. Unfortunately my best mate just recently died of cancer. I love to listen to this and dream about what could have been.
IS YT So sorry my friend😢 for the truth about death & the Bible go to jw.ORG . you have the grand opportunity to see your MATE again. Sincerely Arnold Bourbon Amaral. My wife & I lost our dear Danielle 💇 @ the age of 31 after 13 grueling days in the ICU @ the Mayo hospital to an autoimmune disease. We think of our DANIELLE every day my friend till we see her again. Take care Arnold & Linda Amaral
Ana Pereira nostalgic? me? No, I don't. I didn't see old videos about The Cranberries and I didn't search about the old name The Cranberry Saw Us this morning. ToT
This takes me to a time...when my mother was alive, and she would sing this to me...I'd get sick or have a bad dream and this was a lullaby to me...so grateful, so so love this
Same here too....will always remind me of the one who left and broke my heart. But for my lullabye, my mom sang The Shirelles' "Soldier Boy." Another sad, sweet song.
I love this version most...takes us all back to the beginning of this most unique and wonderful band. Dolores you were a treasure to us all and we miss your talents greatly. A wonderful singer with a once in a lifetime voice, guitarist and songwriter. You will never be forgotten and when it's our time to depart this life, I hope we all will see you on the other side to sing for us.
To think that this is the last album that Dolores was alive for and it's basically a recap of all their hits and a couple new ones. It's like without even knowing it, they essentially made a goodbye album..
This version is absolutely amazing and so is all of "Something Else." Dolores may have left us too soon, but at least she got to finish this incredible album with the band. R.I.P.
La version "acoustique" de ces 11 titres est un régal : des cordes mélancoliques et des intonations de voix aussi merveilleuses qu'inattendues. Merci pour ce talent. Merci.
I was 20th in the 90's and I was listening cranberries , I was sad when I heard the bad news about one of the greatest and magical voice .... RIP lady :-( , I am from Algeria and in the 90's terrorism was our nightmare and cranberries was my one of my sunshine...
I am Also from Algeria, and Cranberries was our Refuge during the Burned Wheels on the streets, you run from school straight forward to the tape and put Dolores Singing, It was a Wartime yet the Melody was absolutely fabulous. We love you Dolores from here the Aures Mountains. RIP peace you are sweet, kind and Lovely little cute Lady.
Strangely I watched a video about Chechnya before stumbling on your comment. I can imagine that your familiar with that.. 'struggle'. I commented about how forgotten the war was when it was ALL OVER the news in the early 90's. I remember the Algerian civil war well. Remarkable how THAT conflict has been forgotten as well. It was QUITE brutal as you are aware. Maybe because of the bloody nature of both wars was instrumental in their final conclusion..
The first time I heard this song, it took my breath away. Even after so many years, that violin and her voice still haunt me. Thank you for this Dolores, RIP.
If you, if you could return, don't let it burn, don't let it fade. I'm sure I'm not being rude, but it's just your attitude, It's tearing me apart, It's ruining everything. I swore, I swore I would be true, and honey, so did you. So why were you holding her hand? Is that the way we stand? Were you lying all the time? Was it just a game to you? But I'm in so deep. You know I'm such a fool for you. You got me wrapped around your finger, ah, ha, ha. Do you have to let it linger? Do you have to, do you have to, Do you have to let it linger? Oh, I thought the world of you. I thought nothing could go wrong, But I was wrong. I was wrong. If you, if you could get by, trying not to lie, Things wouldn't be so confused and I wouldn't feel so used, But you always really knew, I just wanna be with you. But I'm in so deep. You know I'm such a fool for you. You got me wrapped around your finger, ah, ha, ha. Do you have to let it linger? Do you have to, do you have to, Do you have to let it linger? And I'm in so deep. You know I'm such a fool for you. You got me wrapped around your finger, ah, ha, ha. Do you have to let it linger? Do you have to, do you have to, Do you have to let it linger? You know I'm such a fool for you. You got me wrapped around your finger, ah, ha, ha. Do you have to let it linger? Do you have to, do you have to, Do you have to let it linger?
If you, if you could return Don't let it burn Don't let it fade I'm sure I'm not being rude But it's just your attitude It's tearing me apart It's ruining every day For me I swore I would be true And fellow, so did you So why were you holding her hand? Is that the way we stand? Were you lying all the time? Was it just a game to you? But I'm in so deep You know I'm such a fool for you You've got me wrapped around your finger Do you have to let it linger? Do you have to, do you have to, do have to let it linger? Oh, I thought the world of you I thought nothing could go wrong But I was wrong, I was wrong If you, if you could get by Trying not to lie Things wouldn't be so confused And I wouldn't feel so used But you always really knew I just want to be with you And I'm in so deep You know I'm such a fool for you You've got me wrapped around your finger Do have to let it linger? Do you have to, do you have to, do have to let it linger? You know I'm such a fool for you You've got me wrapped around your finger Do have to let it linger? Do you have to, do you have to, do have to let it linger?
This song brought a tear to my eye. Some of the hardest times in my life was around the beginning of The Cranberries*. I truly believe that had it not been for finding them, my life could have gone a totally different direction. Not a good or pretty one. They made me realize that I could do it....I could move on and strive to be better, and forget anyone ever telling me I can't do anything. This song in particular should hit home for anyone who has loved and lost. Thank you for this, even though you'll probably never see it.
Such a tragic loss.. One of the most beautiful and truly unique voices of our time. Dolores, your voice will live forever which is exactly how long we will miss you for....
I remember in 2016 I was really going through a lot of depression and heartbreak and this song helped me get through a lot, R.I.P. Dolores you will be greatly missed.
Sometimes things just aren't the way we imagine them to be. Perhaps most of the times. Thank you, Dolores. Your songs give me peace during my hardest days.
How could it happen? I refuse to believe it. The unique voice and so beautiful songs. We'll always remember and listen to your songs. Goodbye Dolores. Rest in peace. What a pity that I've never been to the live performance.
I'm crying wuth joy while singing my lungs out! Thank you Cranberries... I wish you could do a new acoustic version of Ode To My Family, I would be so happy because it' s one of my favorite songs of all time! I grew up to that song
Sad that Dolores passed yesterday. Growing up with her music over the last 25 years has been a real pleasure. But as we age, we start seeing our idols slowly all fade into glory.
RIP DOLORES. You are greatly missed by so many of us fans of The Cranberries since the 90's. I will never forget when I first heard the beautiful sound of your voice on the radio when I was a kid growing up in the 90's. Thank you for all your unforgettable music.

imagine dedicate DREAMS to the person you really fallen in love....... then... you have to listen LINGER in your room and feeling so lonely ...i met a girl that i thought was gonna be the girl, you know what i mean, the girl wich you want to share your life forever, i loved her more than anything and she was in a similar situation, at least that's what she said, then one day she just gone with no explanation, not saying a word, not even giving you the chance to get back the love of your life, still hurts, but i found kind of peace listening LINGER. i still love you..., hope you're ok.
